I think Brexit could be a big wrench for Disney leadership post-merger since Disney will have two weeks after closing to prepare the new company for disruption before the trigger gets pulled.

Not that the UK hasn't approved the deal (they approved it as part of the EU), but it's a serious question.

I expect Thursday to be the day Disney announces the closing Date. It is the Quarter report and conference call day. They will also announce the opening date for SWGE in Disneyland and hopefully Walt Disney World.

Disney need try and keep Seth McFarlane. I think him and his stuff will help bolster Hulu. They need to get him tied to a multi-year contract

U.K. Approved under EU like you said, so Brexit won't change a thing

Yeah, but it could affect production, distribution and/or ownership of content there. Disney could write off their UK assets in the event of an economic shock.

They don't have much time. The contract goes up in June.

There's something in that Variety article Darkprime posted hours ago that should really alarm Disney post-merger.

Putting aside the other talent defections (Lord and Miller leaving is absolutely no surprise when you consider what Disney did to them with Solo), if MacFarlane goes, it'll be very difficult to see how Disney will move forward with Family Guy without him. The situation's not like The Simpsons, who hasn't had Matt Groening on board for a while. MacFarlane is to Family Guy what Trey Parker and Matt Stone are to South Park; the shows simply can't live without them. It'll also be very difficult to find new voice actors for MacFarlane's characters in the show should he leave.

There's another little name whose deal is up this year. His name is Kevin Feige. Disney has a lot of resignings to do and will, undoubtedly, lose some talent.

Lord and Miller were mainly Lucas and Kathleen Kennedy though. I would like to see those guys direct an MCU trilogy. I would also like to see the Russos direct a Star Wars trilogy if KK leaves them alone to do their thing.

I really hope so. Not just for us but For the Fox employees as well it needs to close already.

Thursday is not the quarterly report. It's the annual shareholder meeting. That's the only thing happening that day. IIRC there are some votes and then Iger and some execs will answer some calls. I might try to make it to the next one.

Your right. I have the meeting bookmarked and made a mistake and called it quarterly not b.c annual. I have so many calls I listen to.

Seth has previously stated that he is no longer in any day to day leadership capacity over anything at Family Guy or American Dad although he still provides several voices and produces both shows. He has put most of his effort into running The Orville and into developing new projects.

I have to imagine securing Seth is a top priority for Disney.

After losing so many producers to Netflix, I have to imagine Disney will be aggressive in keeping many of the remaining Producer-Director-Writer powerhouses under the Disney umbrella as possible. JJ, Favreau, Seth, Levitan should all be top priorities.

If they don’t secure 2-3 of those 5 they will look weak.

What about the future of Bob’s Burgers? That’s Fox’s fourth critically acclaimed animated tv series.

None of Seth's TV series are anywhere near "critically acclaimed." On Metacritic...

Bob's Burgers: 54
Family Guy: 53
American Dad: 41
The Orville: 36

For comparison:
The Simpsons: 80
Futurama: 72
