Is anyone tracking the impact of the current unpleasantness in the Gulf region on international tourism in the UAE?Hugh reiterates progress is still happening and Disney is fully committed on Disney Abu Dhabi.

Instead you just deliver the attack and then gaslight anyone that doesn't line up.
So that never happens? Yes or No?You're still doing it.
- Global guests (a metric combining park attendance and cruise passenger days) grew 4%
This was the first full quarter with two new ships, the Disney Destiny and Disney Adventure, in service. Together, they added roughly 50% more stateroom capacity compared to the same quarter last year. Disney said occupancy and forward bookings on the new ships remain strong.

I’ll summarize for you:My first thought here is that Disney's guest profile is wealthier than Universal's and is less affected by things like fuel prices for vacations.
For example, we know that on guest surveys, the income ranges Universal gives are more granular at the lower and middle of income distributions, while Disney focuses on the higher end.
Assuming both survey teams set those response options knowing something about their guests, that's a clue. (And that's not a totally safe assumption, I know).
That's too bad.Hugh reiterates progress is still happening and Disney is fully committed on Disney Abu Dhabi.
I’ll summarize for you:
It’s vacation club…
Which is why they have beaten it into oblivion. For now it still appears to be working…
Under the hood I would guess they’re still struggling to attract new customers. But their clientele hasn’t been hit as hard…

You know…you might be on to something there. Foot traffic still looks pathetically small…but if they’ve managed to concentrate people into the upsell chokepoints…then it’s workingI think this shows their discount plan is working. You need standby waits to be long enough for the LL people to not feel bad about their purchases. A hotel rented for 75% of the rack rate makes more money than an unrented room. Disney has both been very generous (nearly all room types and all hotels available) and extremely calculated with these discounts. Look for a room in Oct-Dec, nearly all discounted rates have sold out, but rack rate rooms are available. Disney has met their target occupancy. If those discounts convince a family to come that wasn’t coming before, that’s the ultimate get but even if they get a family to come on site Disney still makes more money on them and puts pressure on the off site places to discount their own rooms which could in term convince a new family to come. Josh so far is course correcting from the cliff Bob Iger was taking the company with completely relying on per capita spending increases to make profits. This is ultimately a good thing for the company long term.
