Q: Any signs of slowdowns due to inflation?

Do you think D+ subs will go up as you think?

A: Bob... Demand is strong. Plug for reservations. This quarter is stronger in the parks than last quarter, so, our trend is up. Still waiting for International customers.

Christine: First half of the year is subs adds was higher than expected, so, this next half year may look anemic in comparison, but we expect it to go up.

Bob on Genie+ and reservations -

The sign-up for Genie+ plus and the willingness to come to the parks with our balanced reservation system, which helps us manage our price per day, if you will, so that domestic yield strategy has really structurally allowed us to increase that per capita spending meaningfully without having to rely solely on raising ticket prices and we don't see any end in sight for that.

People have been screaming for years that the parks are too crowded. The pandemic finally allowed them to put a crowd control mechanism in place that wasn’t just raising prices (which didn’t work), and now people are complaining Disney won’t fill the parks to over-crowding levels anymore?
Is that really the problem? Any of it?

Until public perception changes and it all collapses in upon itself.

Q: How are you going to meet sub targets?

How are park margins?

A: Bob.. you heard our guidance... so...

Christine: Consumer demand is up. Inflation will be a challenge.

Uh oh, she's talking about the cost of food!!

We have fuel reserves to level out inflationary pressure for energy.

We're dealing with increase cost of employees and availability [oh, no, they have to pay near a living wage!!]

"This summer we're raising the indoor air conditioning temps two degrees and expect to see clothing sales increase 10% from sweaty purchasers all while we save 5% on energy costs. People will thank us for the opportunity to buy merchandise in their social media photos." /s
I'm giving myself partial credit with Christine's comment about relaunching a fuel purchase savings program, or however she phrased it. 😄

We expect ad-support to double income [?!]
