Dining plan questions?

We will be going to Disney in May of this year. It will be me, my husband, a 2 year old and a 5 year old. We will not be going to any fancy restuarants or for that matter any sit down restuarants, except for one character breakfast. I know the 2 year old won't be included in the dining plan, but the 5 year old eats very very little and is super picky.

My question is, is the dining plan worth it, if you are not planning on eating big? I feel like you have to plan on eating big almost every meal in order to get your moneys worth, is this true? We just aren't sure which way to go on this one?!

Thanks,
Melanie

If you aren't planning on doing sit down meals then it is definately not worth it. You would be entitled to one sit down a day and if you didn't want to use it, it would definately not be worth it. Just do everything a la carte and you will save yourselves a ton of money.

On www.allearsnet.com they have the menu's with prices listed of the restaurants around wdw. We used this as a guide to help us figure out if the ddp was worth it. Since we like the character meals, we get our money out of the ddp. Also we love the idea of having our meals prepaid so we don't have to worry about that while we are there.

Also, do a search of the forums and you will find many many posts on the dining plan and peoples opinions pro and con. My partner and I never get the meal plan - cheap meals around the park at counter-service are cheaper...and when we go out to dine, none of our favorite restaurants at WDW even accept the meal plans...the meal plan is only worth it if you plan on having a sit-down meal each day at one of the moderate restaurants.
