Did they switch to no paper parking passes yet?

Staying at the WL in August. Was wondering:

- Did the Wilderness switch to no paper parking passes yet?
- Have all the parks switched to use the Magic Bands to get into parking?

You can still get a paper one at the front desk of your resort if you ask. I prefer them because we don't have to stop and have them check the bands. They just look and wave you by. A lot easier. They have not forced anyone to not use the paper passes. But most don't ask for one and use their bands. They usually ask us at the desk if we got one still and if not if we want one. :)

Thanks for the info.

Do you know.....do ALL bands on the reservation work? So if we go to park at the Studios.....and I pull up on the passenger side....can my wife show her band?

All bands on the reservation should work. I was at AKL a week ago and this was the case. We asked for a paper parking permit and they told us that we no longer needed one and to use our bands upon entry both into the parks and resort parking lots.

And for those that have used this at the parks etc.....is it awkward? Do you have to tell the CM in the booth you are a resort guest to have them scan the band?

I agree with most....the paper passes were always nice because the CMs could see them on the dash and just wave us through.

All you have to do is stick your arm out of the car window and they scan the band - the CMs seem pretty happy to do this, no awkwardness involved. At the parks it seemed that the scanners didn't work most of the time and they just waved us through. It was easier than fumbling around for my Annual Pass.;)

At the resort, there were two lines to enter at the gatehouse. One was earmarked for guests with magic bands - just drive up, place your magic band on the Mickey Icon and the arm raises. No CM contact necessary.

Yeah, I saw that when we arrived at the GF for our ADR. Cool. About time.

Witnessed the same thing at DLR for hotel guests entering the parking lot - albeit scanning your room key, not a magic band. But according to the CM who stopped me for a survey upon entering DL (and noticed I was a WDW AP), they are coming.
