I had my trip booked, but knew that there would be a new round of resort discounts. Caught the Gift of Magic package today and was able to save $150 by moving from Wilderness Lodge Standard View to Boulder Ridge.

Thoughts on Wilderness vs Boulder Ridge?

I assume you have booked a studio at Boulder Ridge?

BRV is the new name for the original DVC villas at WL. They are in the separate building, so are quieter than those in the main lodge. You still have access to all the same facilities as if you were staying at WL.

The studio will have a queen bed, a pull out sofa and a pull down bed which is suitable for youngsters, or small adults at a push perhaps. Opinions differ on that 5th bed!

It will have a kitchenette with microwave, toaster and coffee maker. Paper plates and plastic cutlery (not sure how that fits with their new green “no plastics” policy). Should be proper cups and glasses.

Since you booked through CRO, you’ll get daily housekeeping.

We toured both places last trip ( and have a reservation April 2019 at CCV)

main building has that amazing lobby just like AKL, which is our home DVC resort. We walked through Boulder and really liked that too. Quiet, and a nice set up.

Honestly, I dont think you could go wrong either way!

We are DVC owners at BRV :). Already booked, NOV 2018 and APR 2019.
BRV will be a LITTLE different for you - but not by much. WE love it, and I bet you will too :).

BUT - on a side note.... notice that "discounted VILLAS" are currently cheaper than "discounted MAIN HOTEL"? Interesting.....

^^ That's what had me a bit perplexed. I was surprised to get a DVC studio for considerably less than a standard view hotel room.
And, boy oh boy, the discounts didn't last long. I noticed the pricing 10 am Wed, booked 6 pm Wed, and Thu at 9 am the studios were gone.

Rare but fun.

May I ask your length of stay?

Does anybody know if those are the same sized daybeds in POR Bayou’s? I’m 5’ and no way could I sleep in those at POR but would have been perfect for my kids back in the day.
