DIAGON ALLEY SOFT OPENING WATCH

There is the main Diagon Alley street. Knockturn Alley, which is alway night and has the Dark Arts shop. And a large covered area called Carkitt Market which is where the stage shows take place.

In addition to many little side areas off these streets. For instance, there is the main walkway through Knockturn, and then a completely different area within with more interactive window displays (which I assume will be used as a shop queue, when needed?)...

You can look in any direction in Diagon and find something that would catch your interest. I spent 4 hours there, didn't ride anything, and still felt like I was missing huge pieces of it. Can't wait to go back.

Amazing pics! I know we're going to have to hit DA first thing with early entry, but I really want to experience it at night. Anyone know if you can get the option of choosing a specific time for the return tickets to enter?

With sunset not being until 830-9ish during the Summer you won't have to worry about return times by then. Crowds won't be as large before closing and you'll get to experience this amazing land.

I hope you're right about that! I assumed the place would be packed out right up to close.

I just got back from visiting DA and oh man, that was AMAZING! Universal have outdone themselves, this is just an amazing experience and it blows the original Hogsmeade/Hogswarts at IoA out of the water. Between the past two years with Transformers and Diagon Alley, USF has finally become the better park at Universal Orlando. Time for them to start focusing on fixing IoA's issues, Kong will be a nice start. So pumped to be a Universal fan/AP holder!

Hogsmeade feels like the studio sets where they filmed the movies (still an impressive feat). Diagon feels like a lived-in city where they shot the movies on location.
Couldn't agree more outstanding place to be spent 6 hours on the first day of softs and about $600 to with it and I'm not big Harry Potter fan but loved the wizard brew.

Any soft opening updates available for today, July 7?
Diagon Alley and Hogwarts Express should be in technical rehearsals today. The word from a team member friend is that there is absolutely no way that Gringotts will open before tomorrow. And even then it will likely be limited to three cars on the track at a time.

cap cArrived today and was able to experience the Hogwarts Express and Diagon Alley with very little waits at all. It is breathtaking. The level of detail is ofd the charts.

A couple things that will be interesting:
1. At nothing near capacity today there were shops (Olivanders and the Knockturn Alley area) where turning around was near impossible due to congestion. Once it goes fully live tomorrow I have a hard time imagining how people will naviagte the insides of the stores.
2. We bought an interactive wand for the daughter at Olivanders and they have interactive windows set up throught DA. The interactive aspect can be extremely sensitive. We had to give up on a few of the displays but thay may ne worked out over time Im sure.

Thats it.
