DHS Makeover - What we know so far.....

I was in DHS today, and heard a CM on the radio while exiting ToT, and heard her say "This is (name that I forget) from Hollywood Hills". Now, I know that the Amphitheatre has that in the title, but is that entire section of the park called that and I've missed it all of these years? I figured she'd radio saying she was at the ride rather than that. Not too sure on the validity of the info we have or if the new name of the park is all speculation, but if not could they possibly be naming the park Hollywood Hills? I'd...kind of hope not.

Hollywood hills is an area of merchandise. if I'm not mistaken its tower of terror and fantasmic.

Received a rather disturbing note suggesting that Shanghai's problems have indeed impacted the DHS redo budget. Toy Story Land and Star Wars Land will certainly come. It's the additional work that I am concerned over. Hope they see the light of day and don't just give us one more Star Wars ride and call it a day.

If so, that's terrible. DHS really needs additional attraction capacity and walk around space in the LMA/Catastrophe Canyon part of the park.

The Board has approved the funding it has be used for CapEx? Or so my limited understanding of the Legal side of business declaring information about the health of ones business that it could be used to deceive investors which I'm told is a 'no-no' with the American government. You can't say/report this pool of money that we have approved and accounted on will move from CapEx A to Operational B.

It is purely operational budgets. Being cut and with the World bar several countries you guys are looking at second recession.

Also because building a new theme park complex including a new park, entertainment district, and hotels, costs a ****-ton of money, and when more money than necessary is going into it, it affects other parts of the P&R division.
That's a real shame...seems like every time WDW is due for something new, something else craps the bed and screws it over

Wait. Didn't we hear the same type rumors about Pandora and Disney Springs being drastically cut back. Weird how these rumors crop up before annual stockholder meetings. Some just can't let go of those supposed glory days.

This is going from sad to,........ well words fail me.

You do know Pandora was cut don't you?

And it's current runaway budget for two attractions is akin to the MyMagic financial fiasco and partly to blame for the wholesale budget slashing news?

The DAK addition has become a mini Shanghai for all the wrong reasons.

Wasn't Pandora originally supposed to have a third ride... A coaster of some kind? Or was that just blue sky?

You got it.

It could've been worse - the boat could have opened as a walk through or not opened at all. Those were two distinct possibilities not long ago. But with only one attraction otherwise it was thankfully added back in. But the budget for the project is now frankly embarrassing. Which partly brings us to where we are today.

I know it's extremely unlikely, but is there any room to expand down the line or did they use the land for something else?

It'll be the new most expensive theme park land ever built dethroning Cars Land. But I doubt anyone will really want to celebrate that fact.

The boat ride is not going to happen, I read it on this web site two years ago due to budget cuts needed to make up for the money lost on Magic Bands.
