Deny receipt?

I'm sure this will sound like a dumb question, but I haven't been able to figure out an answer yet. Many, but not all, private messages that I've received have the tag "deny receipt" in the subject. What does this mean? Is it an added security option? How would I select that option myself, or does it automatically show up in PM's that I send? (Obviously, I'm not on the receiving end of my own PM's!)

Thanks in advance for any info anyone can offer!:)

I THINK, but am not sure, that it has to do with being able to check on your sent messages, so you can see if the recipient has read them or not. For me, on some messages, it doesn't matter...on others it does. :)

Thanks, Mom, that's along the lines I was thinking. I just read the options down at the very bottom of the "send new PM" page, and figured out that all I had to do was de-select the last "receipt" box. (Pays to actually sit down and READ the fine print, huh?)
