I just read on another discussion board that all of the rooms in Deluxe and Moderate hotels are getting Refridgerators.

Is this true?
And if so, are they stocked mini-bars or actual empty refridgerators?

Since you guys are the in with the Disney Info, I thought I would ask here.

Thanks!!

Just got off of the phone with Guest Services as of August 16th there are fridges in the rooms in both moderate and delux..... Only by request.... no additional cost.

This would be GREAT.....as it is now, we need a frig. for my wife meds and we always have to wait up to 2 hours to get it......

You probably know this, but just in case you don't, you can get a frig at any Disney hotel at no charge if it's for medication that needs to be refrigerated. :)

Then I hope they change the prices at the value resorts for them. Ten bucks a day is way too expensive - you could buy one for that price during a week's vacation. Even five bucks a day seems a bit steep, but would be much more reasonable.

So it is by request only but no charge correct?

I was wondering the same thing. Is it hard to get one? Or do they have plenty? We've never paid for one, but it would be nice to have one to store things like drinks and stuff in.

This is great news. My daughter's best friend, who will be accompanying us on our next WDW trip, is diabetic and must have a fridge for her insulin. Great to know I won't have to pay $10/day for it.

You never have to pay for a fridge if it's for a medical condition, like needing it for insulin.

Can anyone remember the CBR having minibars in the rooms?

When I was there in 1993 we had a fully stocked minibar. I was shocked when I first entered the room. Of course we hit it a few times and it was fairly expensive, but I believe you could lock it so nobody could take anything.

Can anyone tell me what year was this done away with @ CBR????

Last year they asked us if we wanted one and I said yes. We had a 6 month old who needed her bottles to stay cold. I didn't know there was a charge until the end, but they only charged us $10 for the entire stay.

CBR did have minibars a number of years back. I was glad they got rid of them, too too much room up and I don't think too many people used them--the prices at any in room minibar are so outrageous, like the candy bar stocked inside. :p

Good news about the fridges!

Just called to reserve a fridge @ Cont..not free!

Staying at the Contemporary from 8/23 - 8/31; just called to reserve a fridge, and was told that there would be a $10/day fee . Oh, well.....guess I'd better cancel a PS .....

Mini bars are ok, sometimes I'll take stuff out of them, when I'm feeling money cautious,I remove some of their stuff and just put my stuff in it-hence free mini fridge. Its about time Disneystarted supplying fridges in the rooms for free. It's pretty sad because MOST hotels even the cheap ones have them and Disney hotels which are pretty swank don't-cheap of Disney.
