- Plenty of hydration before hand and during is a key concept. You need to drink sufficient water in the week leading up to your attempt that you're fully hydrated (urine color for every instance should be colorless) and at least a one glass of water per drink you consume. Those awful headaches are caused by your body sucking the water out of your brain so it pulls away from the skull.
- Pick out drinks that are on the rocks (extra water)
- Don't mix and match. Not Beer here, wine there, and liquor at another place.
- Stick to the clearer beverages, for the most part they have fewer congeners.
- Never too fast, one an hour is a decent pace.
- No bubbles (increased absorption rate)
- Eat Carbs and fats, it helps replace those things the alcohol pushs out along with the water.
I dont drink much these days, but I can still do a three liter lunch without staggering
