Pre-Trip DD is an Adult PTR

Our daughter is unofficially officially a Disney Adult. Because she is still a child, she is still a Disney lover. I hope she stays that way for life. We have not been to Disney since our 3rd trip with our last APs in Summer 2015. We knew then that we needed a Disney break. Not a bag thing and it makes this set of trips that much more enjoyable.

We are headed on the first trip June 18, 2017. I tried to avoid the Summer trip but there is no way around it. She only gets 3 weeks off this Summer due to moving to a new school calendar (on 9 weeks off 3 weeks). The schedule is great for trips but her extracurricular activities will still limit when we can go. We will get our 3 trips in with the APs though.

Where are we staying? For the first 7 nights we are staying in a 1BR Dlx at Wyndham Bonnet Creek. The final 4 nights has not been determined. We may stay offsite or somewhere onsite. Price will dictate where we stay. The cost savings staying at WBC covers the price of one of our APs. Disney Visa Rewards covers 1.5 of the other two. We have our own car so we can drive where we want. We also enjoy all of the activities they have at the resort. DD can find other kids to play games with, play at the pool with, and just have fun. We go to the parks until 1-ish, resort until 6-ish, and then back to the parks or DS.

Who is going? DW, DD11, and me.

Plans? Because we go often enough, there is nothing that is a trip killer if we miss it. Our plans will be to hit each park and 2 new parks (for us). AK, DHS, MK, Epcot, TL, BB, and EWWoS.

New things? We have never been to Blizzard Beach nor ESPN Wide World of Sports. We definitely plan to spend a day visiting both. We want to experience AK after dark, the Star Wars firework show, and all of the other new things that "may" open by then. I am hoping Avatar opens by then. That would definitely change the number of times I hit AK.

With our rewards dollars, money saved for WBC, and a few other things that came into play, I purchased our APs today. We will printout our create some type of voucher for her to open at XMas. This way she will be surprised and can start to plan the Summer trip a bit.

What a huge bill though. $2,650 for 3 APs.

Things are finally turning the corner for us. I didn't even realize we were in the 180 day window. We made 2 ADRs for our must-do dining. We got Ohana's and Chef Mickey's for dinner. This trip is more about the cheap side since there was a huge outlay of cash up front.

The good news is that we have a light at the end of the tunnel. Mediation from a car accident 3 years ago has a court ordered deadline that can't be extended again. At least this may bring it to closure. Once we go through that, we will book our second week. It looks like we are going to be able to take 2 full weeks of vacation. Because the Summer is high season, staying onsite is out of the cards. We are just going to get a 2nd week stay at WBC for about $700. When we go back in the first half of December, we will be looking for a DVC rental. With the lower points requirements, we can probably get AKL or similar for about $900. The other idea may be to do a Sea/Land trip and take our first Disney cruise.
