From reports, the Yeti does indeed still work, it's what he's standing on that is unstable and continued usage might end up with it falling on a train. I'll take the strobe lights over that.

Not quite. He CAN be fixed, but that would entail shutting the ride down for an extended period of time. Given the lack of attractions in Animal Kingdom, TDO isn't keen on shutting down the parks signature experience without something to replace it.

So...hopefully when Avatar opens, they will give EE the refurb it deserves.

I don't think either of us should pretend we know Disney's stance. I suppose anything can be done, but it hasn't worked well in many years so all signs point to can't be fixed in a reasonable manner.
