I heard it pays more than entry level at attractions so i was curious

It really does depend on what you're doing. When I started in attractions I wasn't making that much, but now in Entertainment, I'm making a good sum. The best advice I can give you is that really try to stand out and be an all out great cast member and you'll move up quick. Again, I started out in attractions and now I'm a supervisior over in Entertainment with Costuming.

Anyone know about the resort front end?

The resorts pay about the same actually. I have a friend, Jay who work at the Poly front desk and he says it pay's him about 7.

Front Desk is a labor grade 8 position, it pays slightly more then the standard labor grade 3, which is attractions, merch, custodial, f&b, etc.

Get a job at Disney, have fun, then bounce off to someplace else. It's a great place to work as long as you are not looking for a career. Enjoy it for what it is, then move on (or go seasonal) when the magic begins to wear off.

In fact, I wouldn't recommend looking for a "career" anywhere in Orlando!

really? I have always thought it would be fun to work there, but I wouldn't want to get burned out of it. Sad thing is I'm a network admin and there's no way I could work lower wages. Unless it's an IT position at WDW.

So what's orlando like, everytime I have been I never actually been outside WDW parks and resorts.

WDW and Orlando were built to be enjoyed two weeks at a time.

The majority of jobs at WDW are designed for the high school, college student, second job, retiree type employees. At least as far as the daily guest interraction roles are concerned. There are many other professional jobs available, but I'd imagine that the pay for those positions is generally lower than the same job with another company.

Of course, there are exceptions for every rule and the exceptions may be 25% at WDW, but I would always recommend that anyone starting out at WDW in the lower ranks should consider the job temporary and enjoy everyday. The folks that decide that they are going to work the popcorn cart or be friends with a character for the rest of their lives are doing themselves a disservice.

I love Orlando and I love WDW. I can't wait to leave both so I can look forward to coming back!
