When do the sprng breakers arrive.
We are off on the 4th April. Is it as busy as the summer.
Please let there be a lot less Brazillians as they can be aggravating.

Only 31 days to go till trip no 5

as far as teh crowds- spring break hasnt been that crowded when I've come. MIt depends what you call SPring Break. There is the College spring break that runs mid-march, then the public schools spring break runs in april around easter. My college spring break was always the same week as St. Patrick's day. I visited WDW during breaks and it wasnt very crowded. Definitely not as crowded as President's week in February.

I must agree, September is a great time to go! We went September 15-21st last year and the place was empty! I mean 5 min queues were the norm, or you just walked on.
We liked it so much, we already have our reservations for September 5-15 this year!
If you would like to read my trip report from last September, then click here! :)

we just got back on Monday and the parks were empty. Even MK crowds were VERY VERY light. It could be that the weather was a little drizzly, but there were times when Main Street was almost like a ghost town.

WDW and WAR

I am sitting here thinking about what someone said on here. (I can't find it now, so I'm sticking here under the *crowds* thread)
What if we do go to war? My family has planned this trip for over a year, yet knowing someone is off fighting in a war while I'm at Disney World seems :(
So many thoughts come to mind, but overwhelming guilt comes first.
Does anyone else have any insight into this?
Has this been discussed and I missed it?
What if we went to war tomorrow and you were set to get on a plane to WDW?
I certainly don't mean to sound insensitive at all. I probably do, considering we are in the wake of war here and I'm worried about my vacation. :(

Well, there's a thing about posting regarding political topics on this sight, so i'm only giving my opinion and i don't want to sound one-sided or political or slanted in the least but here's what i think:

1. people are dying. right now. people died yesterday and some will die tomorrow. There's alot of suffering in the world. Some of it due to war, inhumanity, or just nature. While I was at disney recently, somebody died. I didn't know them, but i'm sure they were loved. I, however still had a great time. The world keeps spinning.

2. Regardless of your thoughts about the war, i'm sure many of the ordinary joes (and janes) over there feel they are doing their job. They are in the service and represent their countries and I'm sure most of them would love to be able to go to disney world. During any of the previous conflicts, people went on about their lives. They have to. Of course we are all worried and we shouldn't stop caring about our loved ones overseas or in danger, but we can do those things and still enjoy our lives (including disney).

If you still feel really guilty, you can always buy a ton of disney post cards and write a nice message to the soldiers/sailors/marines telling them what a great time you're having and how you truly hope they will be able to visit wdw one day too! there are alot of services that take letters overseas and
distribute them to those stationed overseas.

I really hope i didn't offend anyone with this. I was just voicing some ideas about how to continue to enjoy oneself while there is conflict in the world.:lookaroun

Back to topic now.... I was there the first week of October last year (2nd-9th) and the crowds were virtually non-existant untill around the 7th and then they startd to pick up but still weren't bad. Went the weekend before Easter in 2000....what a mess, the place was horribly overrun with folks. anyone who goes that time have fun but expect long waits.

I'm curious, did the original poster mean how are the crowds now under the circumstances? Or was it just a general question? If you weren't being specific, then I am wondering how crowds are currently, I have heard that many cut-backs were made for March due to lack of guests and that many promotions on rooms were started end of last month to try and help.
