Hello Everyone!! I am new here. We are going to Disney August 25-Sept 2. How are the crowds?
We usually go the end of Sept. and crowds aren't that bad. Thank you for your input!!

I find all summer busy. humid and hot.

I usually go out in the morning,
take the afternoon off maybe watch a movie or just relax some place cool,
after the afternoon thunderstorm head back until the park closes

I've been going the end of August every year for the last 11 years, so the crowds are very manageable in the end of August. There are not a ton of people like there is the July 4th weekend for example. Also, all the kids are in school down south so that minimizes vacationers.
Welcome to the boards!

once again......i agree with littleroo. the last 2 weeks of august are very light, although HOT!, but crowds will increase the closer you get to the holiday. do MK earlier in the week

We went the last week in August this past year and the crowds were very manageable. Not as light as the week before thanksgiving, but not bad at all. The weather, on the other hand, is tough. Extremely hot/humid, and lots of rain. We actually liked the rain, though, as it cooled things down and chased off the crowds!

I have been at WDW at the end of August a good amount of times. The crowds are manageable, but you and your party should do MK before Labor day weekend. Labor Day weekend is a busy time for WDW. The other 3 parks at WDW aren't affected by labor day weekend as much as MK is.

I would recommend an afternoon break and make sure you bring along rain ponchos. I said take an afternoon break because of how hot it is going to be there.

The other advice is have travel insurance if you are taking a flight because I have been at WDW during tropical storms during that time of the year.

We have gone this time of year quite a few times. Its a great time to go crowds wise. Waits will be minimal. You might see a little bit of a pick up in attendance over Labor Day weekend, but nothing too drastic. It's definitely one of my favorite times to go. Enjoy!

Ditto what everyone has said. The crowds are very manageable at the end of Aug. since school is in, though you still have to plan on heavier crowds for Sat./Sun.

The heat and humidity is tough, but this is a great reason for the midday break.

Wait times for attractions are not bad at all.

We have gone the end of August the past two years. The crowds aren't bad. Try to get to the parks early. They get hotter andorr crowded as the day goes on. Being ponchos seems to rain late in the afternoon every day.

I spent 10 days in August 2011, and the crowds were definitely better than July, but it was still fairly busy. It really was ridiculously hot, though (as expected!).

In 2012, I went for a long weekend after Labor Day and walked on everything (did Soarin twice and had breakfast by 9:30 :D). I know it's hard with kids and school, but September after Labor Day is such an amazing time to go.

We went for the last two weeks of August last year and it was great! The lines were manageable at most attractions (I think there is a very long line for TSM regardless of when you're there...) and restaurants. We were even able to walk up to two restaurants in DTD and get immediate seating without a reservation! It was very hot every day, and it rained every day, but if you're prepared for it, it is great time to go!
