Funny you posted this on Thursday, because this was the day I first saw the current iteration from the show.
During the performance of A Whole New World, there was a female voice in the song, but only the two male bears on stage. When I heard the recycled line about "finding a ladder", I realized that Teddi Bara was supposed to descend from the ceiling, like before, but the slot remained closed.

Yeah it seems Teddi has been having issues with coming out of the ceiling lately

It has been NINETEEN DAYS since she was last seen. They really need to either close it down to fix it or get Chris Thile in the recording booth again to record a B Mode song for Wendell, cause its so confusing and a bad look to guests to hear Teddi but not see her. Honestly they should do both options.

Teddi Barra is back after 22 days... just over three weeks! Pretty sure that's the record for the longest amount of time missing. Maybe they actually did some proper repairs to get her working consistently, or maybe it's just coincidence and she'll disappear again in a few months.

I enjoy the current version and I actually thought it was bold of Disney to revamp the AAs to make them more complex than they used to be. You'd think the modernization of technology would make them easier to maintain but, I'm guessing not.
Imagine how insane COP and Tiki Room would be with 2026 level modern animatronics.

The one thing that confuses me is why they didn’t upgrade them to have all the features the DL/Tokyo versions had- Shaker’s hip sway, mainly. But the AAs are so fluid and lifelike that I can excuse that, haha.
COP may get modern AAs with its upcoming refurb and new version. Tiki Room could use a refresh, and honestly, you don’t even need modern 2026 AAs for them, you could use 90s-2000s level of tech and it’d look perfect- the characters in that show are very simple as-is, so no need to make them modern electric AAs that might break frequently (cough cough Tiana and Teddi)
