It's used in Wizarding World rides. And in F&F to great unintentional comic effect (the dance party scene).

It's not a hologram. The Musion is basically just Pepper's Ghost (haunted mansion, Earlie the Pearlie) with a very thin film, instead of a sheet of glass, (and projection instead of the reflection of a real 3D model)

Holograms are technically 3D.

Now, there IS some tech out there that is actually making 3 d drawings in midair with lasers.. but they are tiny (like tip of your finger tiny) and very young tech.
