Not saying what works for you or your circumstances. Of course what you explained sounds good in theory and works for YOU. But the CDC still doesn’t agree. I’ll stick with what they say.. for me that is.

Hey, no harm no foul. You're definitely one of the more sane posters around here ;) my aunt has been flying back and forth to see my grandma, and I am livid. She's 84 and would be dead from COVID. But I can't stop her :(

Because if other businesses can operate safely and minimize risks enough, then they should be allowed to stay open. This has never been about eliminating risk completely; it's been about finding ways to keep economically what we can going, while minimizing risk to the smallest degree possible. For some businesses, or business operations, such as indoor dining, that isn't possible. But in lieu of a study showing massive risk and sizable levels of transmission at DW, they should be allowed to remain open.

It is it the job of the prosecution (i.e. the one making the accusation or assertion) that Disney is unsafe and too risky to provide proof. not on the defense ;)
Indeed. If one thinks there is an issue, then one needs to provide enough evidence to show as much. You cannot prove there is no issue; that's the default you're working to reject (statistics!).

I keep seeing that phrase "fear-mongering." The reality is, we have entered the depths of a crisis. Hospitals are full, we break records every day, and hundreds of thousands more are going die. That is fact, not fear mongering.
My darling breeze by the ocean, you're preaching to the see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil crowd. Then there's the rest of us... who continue to try and make contact. But like the movie Beetlejuice, there's no point taking your head off for people who can't see you.

You’re not fear mongering.

I am not hopeful either for Christmas; normally since I don’t celebrate holidays I have a big dinner with friends or big bonfire, but there will none this year for me. Can’t say the same for a lot of my extended family, but I can’t force them to do anything (or in this not do it)

We haven't even seen the full thanksgiving wave. Its going to be an absolutely devastating winter.

The optics are bad on executive compensation. On the Mandalorian costs I would disagree. If anything the success of Disney+ is holding the company together and keeping the stock price up which helps everyone who works for Disney in every division.

It’s heartbreaking to see stories of people who lost their jobs and still haven’t gotten things turned around, but I’m not sure how practical it would have been to continue paying every CM indefinitely. Are most still furloughed or are they laid off at this point? Ultimately the government needs to do better with unemployment and assistance, especially for industries heavily hit. They also need more targeted stimulus once the vaccines are widely available to jump start those industries impacted the most. A $1,200 check is nice, but if I turn around and buy a 60 inch TV from Amazon with the money it’s not helping the businesses that need it the most. I would support more targeted stimulus in the future like tax credits for flying, travel and dining out as opposed to just writing blank checks. I’m talking about a future stimulus not the aid package they are looking to pass today. That’s more about getting money to people today so they can eat and pay bills. Once the crisis passes we will likely need an additional economic stimulus. They should attempt to make that more targeted to the extent possible.
I know that I may be too much to completely pay salaries, but maybe a small severance? Food gift cards to Publix? Anything to these employees, even it buys them another month or two to find new work, locate charitable assistance, move back in with family. Etc.

Instead they got letters addressed “ Dear Cast member” ....while executives got restored pay and Bob Iger plays his fiddle

Perhaps they could have let laid off cast pitch their own D+ concept series. Seems like they approved any idea that walked through the door as it is...

It sucks and there may have been more Disney could have done, but I think that really falls to the government. I know that Congress is broken and a relief bill looks unlikely due to all this fighting, but that’s the problem. We can’t rely on for profit businesses to bail out the government for their inadequacy. It’s even worse for FL since the state is so broken and the unemployment system is broken badly there. It’s not Disney’s fault that the state and local government is not doing what they should to help workers. TWDC could have chosen to continue paying the workers. In some cases CMs are still furloughed so have benefits but no pay, that’s not great but better than no health insurance too.

As long as humans run the show, it will be this way. Until then I rely on an old friend of mine 🍺

I last flew on November 3. No food or drink. No taking masks off for anything other than a quick sip of a pre purchased drink. I'm not discrediting your experience. It just doesn't line up with what others have experienced.
I have flown twice round trip this fall for a true family emergency, most recently last week. Each flight was well under 3 hours and snacks/water were served to all in prepackaged bags every time. I was offered beer or wine each time in comfort+. And the first class individual in front of me most recently ordered a food box. She had her mask off for a good 30+ minutes eating one bite at a time with no reminders. I had to ask the flight attendant to remind her to put her mask back on when she was done. First class was offered water multiple times too so she had it off frequently after and was not asked to put it back on between sips. This is obviously one example, but food/drink is being offered in some flights and not everyone is being careful.

But I'm wondering when (not if) the coronavirus is going to hit to the point that it affects travel and, more specifically, WDW. Does Disney have plans in place beyond limiting hours and laying off performers?
Too late for a prediction? I haven't really been following the news, so I'm fairly untainted with knowledge. I predict "No effect at all" except for the fact that Tapestry of Nations will remain cancelled.
