I like Coronado springs...the Cabanas i tihnk are the best place to stay, they're close to the main bus and lobby....the pool is a little further away, but i tihnk thats the best

We were in the Ranchos which is probably farthest from the main building but very close to the feature pool. I'm not one who thinks that anything is too far away...I plan to do lots of walking at WDW. But we did like being by the pool.

I enjoyed Ranchos...the walk to the lobby is NOT that bad...nothing compared to a walk across Epcot or Animal Kingdom...with the amount of walking I do in one day at Disney, what's an extra 5 minutes?

We just returned from Coronado Springs yesterday. They were doing some repair work on the roofs of building 8A and 8B. It appeared to be a small project, so I doubt that will effect you at all (just wanted to note to anyone else who is going soon).

We also were in the Ranchos Building. It was directly across from bus stop 3 and it was a very nice building. I doubt you could get much further than we were, but the walk to get coffee at Pepper's Market in the morning was never more than 5 minutes. They also have a shuttle that goes around the lake. I don't remember that being there the last time we stayed at CS, so that may be somewhat new. We didn't use the shuttle at all, but many with children did find it useful. So if you are in the back of the resort, remember that they do have transportation to the main building pretty much round the clock.

I recommend to be near the bus stops rather than the lobby, you can go in your car to the lobby if you don't want to walk.
I have to say I had a bad experience with this when I stayed there at Easter 2 years ago. I was driving to have some film developed off-site and wanted to stop by the lobby to take care of some quick business at the front desk. The resort was full that week (Easter) and they had a cast member stationed at the check in parking lot to keep people from parkig there unless they were checking in. Despite my assurances that I would not be inside more than 10 minutes, she absolutely would not let me park there. Still, I agree with you that the rooms near the bus stops are preferable to rooms near the main building. :)
