Construction between Contemporary and TTC

Not for anything that I would be concerned with. It's small localized stuff that can easily be stabilized.
So it is possible the activity is about ascertaining if the area is stable or may need stabilization. Not that there is an immediate resort construction project in the works.

This feels like just another sign of the change in direction Disney is taking. Before the pandemic Disney was trying to capitilalize of guests entire vacation between Magic Express and perks that targeted all level of resorts. Now post pandemic, Disney is now targets the more affluent demographic and may be looking to build a new premium resort to expand on that group.

In the end it's only about money. It's certainly possible to stabilize it and make it usable but I'm not one to deal with acquiring the necessary dollars.

From the science stand point it's 100% possible. It's not an area that's dangerous long-term.

Holland makes that clear in the podcast. I believe it has more to do with the price point per night against the cost to build. Especially with that being a higher than or equal cost per night to GF, it’s got to be a very particular guest experience for a particular client.

Some people did speculate that the GF to MK walkway was a precursor to a new resort in that area.

Does anyone know why there's a weird preplanned fork in the walkway closer to the GF side? It's just north of the small bridge. They're clearly intending the path to continue to the road maybe?

It’s an existing dirt road. It is best practice for maintenance and safety to have a perpendicular transition between a dirt road and a paved road which is why the pavement has a slight fork.

That is just one example. There are several conditions that can cause negative skin friction.
Wouldn't helical piles be a solution for that? Maybe a raft foundation sitting on a grid of helical piles? I mean up here in the northeast it's not uncommon to dig down 50+ feet to build parking garages below high rises- so excavating some of that material out is also a feasible option- but that depends on how deep it goes.

A building like Bay Lake Tower would probably cost $100 million+ to build today- maybe $150 million. The cost of the foundation work would be significant, but I doubt it would be absurd relative to the building cost. I think it's just a matter of someone deciding to pull the trigger on spending the time and money.

Maybe I am misunderstanding your post, but there is a walkway between GF and MK.
There likely will never be a full loop though, the water bridge connect the seven seas lagoon to bay lake is the issue. The existing tunnel is too narrow to support a road and walkway and building an elevated ADA bridge high enough to allow boat traffic would be very expensive and boat traffic is too numerous to use a draw bridge like the one GF pathway has.

There already is a sidewalk under the water bridge. I think the bigger issue is the length of the path through an undeveloped area in regards to safety and security.

You also forgot Liberty Square though.

I do like your idea but I’m still going with a HM resort for the win.
HM Hotel would be great if only it wasn't for those meddling kids.

Any “connector” path would have to be built new topside…for a variety of reasons.

want to know an obvious one? Baylake is WILD and that bottleneck they dredged/created would be a liability as a “transit” spot for some of our friends
