I know majority of online users are not patient for the longer haul of plans of really going to happen with Coco. It just something to share. 😂

Honestly, might be better with a tall multi level structure if they theme it and block out some of the terrible site lines in that area

True, but if I recall correctly, Frozen Ever After is multi level, but nothing on the second level is on top of anything on the first level. So, sixes, IF it's a FEA type layout.
Part of the ride is above storage/maintenance

Here is the Norway Pavilion at EPCOT plopped into DCA. This area has a QS, TS, indoor themed queue, boat ride, and a large gift shop.

I would be interested in seeing the Mexican pavilion’s boat ride (Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros)overlayed in this area.

Is this area expected to be open in time for the 28 LA Olympics?
Or is the Avengers Ride the big draw for the LA 28 Olympic crowds?

It highlights how the Pomona Pier (nod to @Professortango1 ) is actually not a great use of space, despite many people believing it is.
I disagree. 10+ rides, multiple sit down full service food/quick service food, multiple shops, amazing show on the water, games etc....I dont think there is any other space in any disney park or any theme park that has as many options in one space. Someone prove me wrong?

Also they built the Pier with multiple expansion plots for future rides (like coco)

Did they build the pier with expansion plots? I always understood that Midway Mania wasn't a plan, but a creative solution to get people through the coaster berm, but given that they had to troubleshoot around that, it wasn't a planned expansion pad.

It seems that they created a giant lake, then included so little room around it, and added a coaster as a backdrop, that there isn't much you could do with that corner other than these weird creative solutions contorting around the coaster/narrow public space.

Yes, Whirlwind went into one expansion plot, the other is at the other end of the coaster where the rumored Ursela spinner was going to go. And if you go back to the beginning of this thread we discussed the other, where the Promenade would have been the entrance, the parade building was rumored to be temporary and why we thought Coco was going there. But rather they are reconfiguring the backstage to do it instead.

So yes the Pier was setup to have expansion plots, and they are using them.

Whirlwind replaced Maliboomer. It wasn't an expansion plot, it was simply an area that previously hosted a flat ride. And now does again.

And putting a spinner in a helix isn't really an expansion plot. An expansion plot is typically an area where they can expand the park to add a significant attraction or area. As for the Pixar Promenade idea, that rested on them removing the parade warehouse, which doesn't seem to be something Disney is looking to do at this time and given the Coco construction, is highly unlikely unless they decide to axe parades all together.

Whirlwind you mean? Yes, but it sat vacant for almost a decade, hence seen as another expansion pad that went unused until they put Whirlwind there to occupy it again.

The other two were part of the original expansion pads, which Coco is now going to be using at least part of it. And if they don't remove the parade building for Coco they still have more room back there to expand if needed.

Once Mailboomer vacated (it sat vacant for almost a decade so it wasn't a direct replacement) it was seen as an expansion pad, similar to how Motorboat Cruise area in DL is seen as an expansion pad. Just because a previous attraction was located there doesn't mean its not seen as an expansion pad, especially by the Fandom.

Sorry, but the helix spot was always deemed an expansion pad because again an attraction was planned for it. Just because its not "extensive" enough for you or doesn't meet your "definition" of "expansion" don't mean its not usable space they can put an attraction if they want. Any space where an attraction can theoretically go is an expansion pad.

And just because they may or may not be doing anything with the parade building for Coco again doesn't mean its not a viable location for expansion. The Promenade was always designed to be an entrance to an attraction behind the coaster.
