Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek -- Recent Thoughts?

Greetings programs!

We stayed at Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek back in 2024 and had a good experience. We are looking at coming back to Walt Disney World next year (2027) and are already considering our options because we have a large family (8 people total) and probably will look to book a year in advance of our anticipated October or November travel dates to ensure we can get what we want/need.

I have seen some recent reviews of Club Wyndham speaking negatively about the fact that they have supposedly drastically turned up the intensity and pushiness of their time share pitches. We have never, and will never, sit through a time share pitch. We are renting strictly as a hotel room and are 100% uninterested in any time share. Last time we went, we had no attempt to get us into a time share presentation at all. Admittedly, we arrived at like 2 a.m. and the "concierge" desk was not even staffed, but there was no follow-up either.

Now I am seeing people talking about being delayed for an hour or two at check-in just trying to complete the process because of the time share people, getting calls in their room throughout their stay, etc.

I was curious if anyone has had any recent experience and has any thoughts. We liked this property because of being inside the Disney gates and being able to see the Epcot and Magic Kingdom fireworks, and Disney Springs, from our balcony and so forth, but we are not wedded to it and can go somewhere else if there are going to be issues.

Thanks!

We stay there often, most recently in May.

No issues. We remain polite, but firm. They try to get us to sign up for a meeting, of course, but we tell them we’re there for fun, not frustration, for us or them. I tell them I would never commit to a contract, even if it was “free” as I have no interest in anything that requires an annual fee in the future. We also say we don’t feel it’s fair or polite to give a salesperson false hope.

Our son stayed there in June and used the same responses and had no issues.

We also unplug the phone the moment we walk into the unit. 🙂

Thanks for the information!

I have no problem with them asking. It's a time share resort, that's there job. However, if I decline, then I want that to be the end of it. I've seen some people saying they were stuck at the "concierge desk" for an hour or more trying to just get their wristbands and go to their room. Fortunately, it sounds like that wasn't your experience.

A year or so ago we had one who keep “having trouble trying to activate” our wristbands, meanwhile telling us all about how the benefits of attending a meeting. A stall tactic, most likely, but I suppose you never know. After maybe 5 mins at most, I said I already had the room key card and would come back later for the wristbands so she could figure it out with “no pressure” standing in front of her. 😉
I walked away and stopped back in once we unloaded everything and told them I needed bands and was in and out in 30 seconds.

One change I have noticed is they try to find out who you’ve rented from/through. They even have an email ready to go and ask you to forward your rental agreement email to their email. I tell them no.
