The Walt photos are supposed to be the best part from what I hear. Lots of personal photos of him traveling and on cruises just being Walt. At least they are still letting Walt in one part of the parks.

Walt Disney Imagineers spent years researching the type of cigarette Walt smoked so that, for an extra upcharge, you can have the scent piped into the room for that extra layer of authenticity. Gotta love the Disney detail!

Discerning Disneyphiles will want to order a signature cocktail from the bar, "The Walt": a glass of neat whiskey garnished with two used cigarette butts

The new lounge they added at Disneyland's Club 33 looks like a chain restaurant, so WDI hasn't been on their best form lately.

I love to laugh at the cheesy Darden Corporation and their microwaved slop chain restaurants as much as the next guy (which is dangerous when you're in Orlando), but you lost me at "chain restaurant".

I can't think of any chain restaurant that looks like Salon Nouveau at Disneyland's Club 33.

And that's just the bar and waiting area to lounge in before your dinner reservation in the actual Club 33 Dining Room.

Passing by Mrs. Disney's antique harpsichord before you get to the dining room, naturally...

I just can't think of any "chain restaurant" that looks like any of that. Anywhere.

And I love the chair upholstery's homage to Lillian Disney's love of Delft china. Almost as much as the garden fountain in her memory at Disney Hall.

Only about six or seven more accent colors and it'll be finished!

The older Club 33 had a charm, grace and elegance that just was unrivaled anywhere else in the park. The new lounge is tonally off and reminds of me of a differently colored version of:

I love the lighting, really brings out the Oompah Loompah in me.

So, it went from no accent color to all of them.

Bob, I'm available for consultation.

I first ate at Club 33 around 2000 or so as a guest of Standard Oil, and it seemed a bit tired even back then. I thought the 2014 update and expansion worked wonders on the place. And the Disneyland waiting list is still measured in years and they are charging annual dues that are triple the $15,000 they are charging at WDW for their tapas-only version of Club 33, so I imagine TDA is thrilled.

If you think the expansion of 2014 and the remodeled dining room looks like a Cheesecake Factory, well... okay. But I'm just not seeing it.
