MK Cinderella Castle Set to Return to Classic Color Scheme

It’s a great improvement. I got used to seeing the pink over the years, but not because I liked it. After six years, it had definitely overstayed its welcome. It’s good to see things back the way they should be, and frankly it should have been changed back a lot sooner
It only missed lasting as long as the wand by one year.

How long did the cake castle stay up? Imagine staring at that thing for 6 years. 🤢
2-ish years. And it represented exactly what this company lost around September 2005 - Fun and whimsy. I liked it because it was fun and whimsical and temporary.

But the repaint was so desperately needed, I'm glad it's been done (but sad the pink was ever there in the first place).

I’m not. But surely there are better uses of company resources than a 30 minute video on painting.
I guess my only point is this - they’re not having some construction project manager film these and waste their time on their salary. It’s a social media team that probably gets the thumbs up to go and film certain projects in motion and goes around and creates all this. And I’m sure it’s a drop in their overall marketing / social media budgets

Some folks are interested in seeing what goes into these types of tasks and getting to see the people who’re assigned to do it seeing it through. For those who’re interested in the minutia and day to day details of completing these projects, these videos are very fun to watch and have provided a look at aspects of Disney’s work that we don’t often get to see.

You don’t have to be down on absolutely everything, especially so innocuous and inoffensive. There’s not even really anything to be critical of in the video, you just seem to enjoy being in opposition.

And honestly, I really hate that you do it because you sometimes have great insight and make great points, but you so often undercut your own credibility and the ability for anyone to take you seriously by pouncing on any opportunity to complain whether it’s warranted or not. With how good your insights sometimes are, you could contribute so much interesting stuff to this forum, yet you clog it with mostly stuff like this,

It's marketing. A good and cheap way to do marketing. It highlights the talent of the artists and Imagineers. It gives theme park nerds chills. It reminds everyone of the recent work that's been done or is in progress (remember how we have forumites here who freak out when there's no updates?... well here are your updates).

And most importantly, it highlights that Good ol' Josh has heard that we hate the salmon and so, did something about it. Disney's C-suite loves us!!!

I do remember fun and whimsy. But that was also the transition out of the Paul Pressler days... it was a time of rides being out of operation, large swaths of the park underutilized, and cheaping out whenever possible. I did like getting signatures from the walkaround characters. I still have my book of them.

From a presentation by former Imagineer Tom Morris, the original Cinderella Castle plan from 1967 before it was revised for budgetary reasons. Note the chapel on the East side along with other embellishments throughout.
