Christmas Special filming schedule

I haven't seen anything, but its usually the first weekend in December or the end of November. I use to watch Disney Christmas Day Parade religiously when it was LIVE! Now I don't even bother😢 It's not LIVE anymore not even a segment...its all a pre-taped infomercial for Disney Parks. With news agencies reporting that Disney is scrambling to make up for the Star Wars: Galaxy Edge fiasco! Did you know the Star Wars Hotel is going to be $3300.00 for 2 nights! and at The Riviera, they are already discounting the room by up to 40% BEFORE IT EVEN OPENS!!!! PATHETIC! SORRY FOR GOING OFF TOPIC A LITTLE! Had to get that off my chest! Thank you!

They usually tape the parade around the second weekend in November, but now I think it's only cast members and families that get invited.

The Holiday Special stuff-the celebs, music performances, etc, were filmed the first week of November during our last visit 2 years ago. We went to MNSSHP on Halloween (Tuesday) and on Thursday we were at DHS and saw them filming-so, literally right after Halloween. It was very odd and surreal to have in-your-face Christmas just after Halloween.

The schedule for this has changed dramatically in the last few years. It used to be the end of the first week of December but no longer. The last few years, WDW was home to most of the live entertainment pre-records while they parade was recorded at Disneyland. With that structure change much of it happens at WDW in early to mid November now.

Is it for sure that it’s only going to be for CM’s? Or just a rumor?

I haven't kept track this year so idk when it will be but yeah, in recent years, they filmed early November and tickets for the filming time slots were for CMs and up to 6 guests (at least it was the year I went). Anybody can go to the parks on the days they are filming, the tickets were just for the area closer to the stage. However, at least from my experience, they never checked for tickets so it turned out anyone could wait in line and CMs were going for more than the time slot they reserved.

For the past couple years the main parade and celebration have been at Disneyland, at WDW we get some artists. As I said, I went a few years back and honestly its not as glamorous as it sounds, I didn't even stay the whole time I had the tickets for. They are filming, so there is a lot of dead time as they transition and give directions to the extras (like clapping in a very awkward way above your head) and a LOT of retakes.
