Character Meal HONESTY

The family has never been to a character meal. This vacation, my dad wants to go to one, and we are all excited.

For breakfast, which is the best overall character and food experience? We have two attractive parents, with equally attractive youths, me 20 and the sis 19. :p We are also planning this breakfast on my 21st birthday, so Donald Duck and/or Mickey must be pertinent guests.

Which would suit my needs? And what time is good to be scheduled for? Earlier the better?? Or late morning? I know 12/26 will be quite crowded regardless. Merry Christmas!

Thank you all so much!:xmas:

I went to Chef Mickey's for breakfast last year. At that time the
characters that were present were Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale,
and Pluto. Goofy is also there, but he stays near the entrance of
the restaurant.

From www.wdwig.com ...

Chef Mickey's
Contemporary
Character Breakfast
Served Daily 7:00 AM Until 11:30

Mickey, Goofy, Chip and Dale

[ed. see above comment about characters; I don't know if
there are less characters there now]

$16.99 for Adults, $8.99 for Children 3-11

PREMIUM FRUIT BAR
Fresh Fruit Display, Yogurt, Bananas, Peaches, Pears, Fresh Cut Melons, & More

CEREAL SELECTIONS
Cheerios, Raisin Bran, Cocoa Puffs, Fruit Loops, Hot Oatmeal, and Grits

BREAKFAST SPECIALTIES
Chef Mickey's Egg and Sausage Roulade
Scrambled Eggs
Corn Beef Hash
Frittata
Cheese Potatoes
Breakfast Potatoes
Bacon and Sausage
French Toast
Baked Delights
Biscuits and Gravy
Warm Bread Pudding
A non-alcoholic beverage is included in the price.

I remember that there were more items available. You can
ask for Mickey shaped pancakes. There were also Mickey
shaped waffles available.

The food was good and you didn't feel rushed by the CMs.

You should call for a priority seating as soon as you are able
to (i.e., there's a schedule that you need to follow about
how far in advance you can make priority seating arrangements).

Have fun!

OK, what am I missing? "Attractive"? Did you mean "active"?

If you really did mean "attractive", then forget Mickey and Donald; they already have significant others. For you, I'd do breakfast at the Castle. No, your not going to get Cinderella. A guy builds a gal that kind of house and there's no way she's leaving him. However, Jasmine is also there and I think you will have a shot with her.

I'd send your sister over to the Garden Grove in the Swan. Goofy's there. Not much to look at, but he's got a good sense of humor.

The Crystal Palace has recently completed a rehab and is reopen for business -- characters are Winne the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Eyeore. The food is quite good and the location is excellent.

Hey there!! I am a big fan of character meals myself. I have been to the Crystal Palace and the food is good and the atmosphere is lovely, but none of the characters you want to see are there. I have also been to the one in the Animal Kingdom with Donald hosting!!! The food isnt as good as the Crystal Palace but it is certainly still edible and has both Mickey and Donald!! As far as the Castle, while it is lovely, unless you have a princess fixation like myself, it is a tough one to get and requires some SERIOUS Planning to do so!!! Might not be worth it for you. A great way to experience the beauty of this restaurant is toplan for a lunch or a dinner there, but the princesses are only there in the morning so hence the popularity of that breakfast. I have heard some awesome things about the brreakfast at Chef Mickey's but I AM not sure if Donald is present though. Dont forget to mention that it is your birthday when you make your priority seating arrangements. Also on the day you are there for your birthday, stop into City Hall and ask them for a birthday button to wear on your special day!! It is free and a lot of fun as everyone wishes you a happy B day!! Enjoy whatever you decide to do!! Belle

You can have BOTH! Mickey and the 'elusive' Donald at Donald's Breakfastosaurus in Animal Kingdom! Buffet food items with a good variety to choose from and LOTS of attention from the characters. When we were there Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, and Goofey ate with us!

We went to every character meal (breakfast & dinner) that all four parks offer when we were at disney a few weeks ago. (we didnt hit all the resort character meals though) For breakfast, we prefered Donalds Breafastasaurus...the buffet was enormous and donald, mickey, goofy & pluto were there. We got an 8am seating and were one of the first to see the characters and the first to get at the buffet. They had eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes, waffles, a couple kinds of potatoes, biscuits & gravy, tons of fruit, cereals, all kids of rolls, juice, milk coffee and a few other things Im forgetting.

We did chef mickey's last year and Donald & Mickey were both there along with chip and dale. Later in the meal, the genie showed up at the entrance but did not visit tables. We felt rushed here but the food was good.

I think you would be happy at either place really. :)

To be honest, I thought Chef Mickey's breakfast was absolutely horrible. That wasn't even during Christmas.

I have gone to Breakfastosaurus twice. The first being during Christmas, the other this past June. In June it was great. One of the best breakfasts I have ever had.

During Christmas (I think it was the 27th), it was absolutely horrible. I think one character came by, it took 25 minutes to get an omelet (CM doing omelets and waffles w/o help).

Even though it has Winnie the Pooh, The Crystal Palace has constantly been very good. 1900 Park Fare also has a good character breakfast with Alice characters.

Just trying to post creatively and be somewhat humorous...not mean at all. At least give me props for not using profanity!

Thanks for checking my spelling. My mind was moving faster than my fingers and I did not proof...my teachers would be so mad at me!! Geesh! But, again, thanks for bringing it to my attention, I'll be more careful in the future!

Thanks all for your amazingly informative posts! :xmas:

In November of 2001 we did two character breakfasts. Age range of guests was 2 - 65 and there were 20+ of us.

Polynesian - Mickey, Goofy, Chip and Dale. Food was about average for Disney, and there was plenty of it. Not once was there an empty food dish on our table without a wait staff replacing it with a full one. Chip, Dale and Goofy were great at all of our tables. Mickey seemed a bit rushed, but than he is Mickey Mouse, and everyone was screaming for him all around the restaurant.

Crystal Palace - Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore. Food, A+++ Pooh was always at the center of the restaurant, just walk up and get in a short line with your kids. The other three bounded up to our tables and interacted great with everyone from child to adult. I would do this breakfast again no questions asked.
