Animal Kingdom character changes-

-Flik is leaving Animal Kingdom. His last day is scheduled as today.

-Dug and Russell should be returning in the near future.

Wow, they don't beat about the bush do they?
Wish I had my photo taken with Flik back in July. Will we never see him again?
Least UP is coming back though! I just wish they didn't have to replace old for new.

Very sad to see Flik go. Why would they take him out? He has his own attraction!

But anywhere there's more UP is a place I want to be in, so. Bittersweet.

No clue other than ants are very skinny, he had a line of about 30 people when I passed by today. DCA has a whole Bugs Land and ge stopped meeting there a few years ago. So were down 6 and up 2.

He can be very difficult to *find friends for*......

...as in, casting his role i have heard has always been very challanging due to the size restrictions of his particular bug body.

I love Flik...he will be missed.

I've been waiting to meet Flik for so long and he was my #1 photo op for my trip in a couple weeks. Uuugh, and of course he is out. For whatever reason, he nor Atta, were there on any previous trips.

At least I will get to see Carl & Russell who I have yet. How about Carl?

I was last at AK in 2009. Whom are there on a regular bases these days? I'm trying to get a bunch of new character photo ops to add to my album collection. All I currently have from AK, aside from the "main group", are:

Baloo
Jimini
Louie
Divine
Rafiki

I'd love to get all them :sohappy:

I wish I had taken more pictures with characters when I was younger, missed out on a lot of old favorites I would love to have today. At least I did get some though like Roger Rabbit and Dreamfinder....even some of the Ninja Turtles & April. I'm more into getting character pictures now in my late 20s than when I was a little kid :o

Ratcliffe has been gone for almost three years. If they have them out(and today they weren't out) it's been Timon, Pluto, & Goofy(yes you would be seeing triple)

As far as Flik, Atta, & Jiminy go as far as finding friends-they've been managing since 1998, why it should be a problem now, no idea

Flik is leaving because his meet and greet is being replaced with more popular characters, Jiminy left for budgetary reasons, that may have been a factor, but was not a driving force.

DAK characters haven't changed all that much in the last few years.

Pluto, Goofy, Timon - Oasis In the Early Morning

Goofy and Pluto - Dinoland most of the day

Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy - Camp Minnie-Mickey All Day

Pocahontas, Thumper, Miss Bunny, Chip, Dale - Camp Minnie Mickey Intermittently

Meeko, Koda, Kenai, Brer Fox, Brer Bear, Terk - Camp Minnie-Mickey on Super peak days like Christmas week

Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore - Discovery Island Character Landing Most of the Day

Russel and Dug from UP - Outside the Ring-Tailed Lemur Exhibit on Discovery Island all morning and into the early afternoon

Rafiki at Rafiki's Planet Watch - Most of the Day

Baloo and King Louie on the Africa Trails - Mid Morning until early-mid afternoon

Daisy is only at Camp Minnie Mickey for an hour around lunch time. Koda and Kenai are very rare even during peak times, you're much more likely to see the Bre'rs there than the Bears.
