CBR Water View

Hi all,

We've booked and confirmed a room for Aug 2020. we originally wanted a CBR Preferred Room but have been given a Water View instead. What are people thoughts on the Water View rooms? I booked through virgin (I'm in the UK) and thats all they have. Could I ring Disney direct and ask to change to a preferred?

Never done CBR before so I have no idea what the best thing to do is.

I haven't bothered with the extra for this as view wasnt bad last time in courtyards and not as if it's a private balcony but upside is water view probs means closer to the main hub of checkin and food area and main pool as these are near the lake so assumed these were preferred rooms

Yeah it all seems a little confusing as Preferred is just on 2 building but water view is in 4 but you can get water view in the preferred blocks.

Due to the way the UK travel agents work, if they don’t have the room type you want, unfortunately Disney direct won’t be able to help. The UK agencies receive a specific allocation of rooms (this includes the Walt Disney Travel Company UK - they work as a third party) and once they sell out there’s nothing that can be done if you want to make a reservation with them.

You could try asking on check in if they can reallocate you?

I thought this might be the case but when we last went (last aug) with Virgin we had friends who were in the same hotel and to get connecting rooms we were changed from a pool view (all that was available through Virgin) to a garden view (wasn't available through Virgin) so I was hoping they could do the same.

At CBR, Water View consists of ‘quiet pool view’ and ‘lake view.’ Lake View is so much more preferred. So I’d call back and note that I’d want my ‘water view’ to be of a lake, and not a pool.

I would keep ringing back to see if the room category has any cancellations. Also, it may be that you took a downgrade as to why they were able to make the change for you last time - I’m only guessing though. What I wrote above was the official line so you can always try!
