:veryconfu Hello everyone! We need help trying to decide between CBR and CSR. We keep jumping back and forth between the two. So far we have our reservation for New Years for CBR. I just keep hearing good things about CSR that we can no longer decide!

Here's a background to the people in our party:
There will be 4 adults traveling with us. Everyone is in their early 30's except for one 28 year old. We are all really big kids (hey, come on I design toys for a living) but we still are responsible adults when necessary.

Last time we were there in 2000 we stayed at POFQ and absolutely LOVED it! During that trip we spent alot of time at POR walking around and enjoying the atmosphere.

We eventually want to try all moderates and eventually deluxes. But since it will be New Years this time around I guess we're being picky!! :hammer:

Everyone in our party loves to eat (one of our favorite past times) so the food court has to have lots of variety, but we do love mexican food.....

During this trip we are hoping to take it easy and not rush around so much. We're hoping to go back to the resort during mid day and either:snore: catch some z's or sit poolside if weather permits ...how is the weather at the end of December?:(

We'll I hope you guys can help us make up our minds, cause we sure can't! HA HA:D So far both resorts seem so great!

Thanks in advance everyone!!!:sohappy:

I suggest the Caribbean Beach Resort. I enjoy the caribbean theme, the pool, the water slide and the location. It is just a short bus ride to Epcot, MGM, Downtown Disney and Blizzard Beach.

If you are not set on new years. Try to go during the weeks that the current discount is running. It is code ZRFS and you can find more info at disneyworld.com and by calling 407-W-DISNEY you can also contact your travel professional, I am sure they can also help you. New Years is very crowded and is a "Holiday Rate" season. Which means you are paying top dollar for a room when you can get it for a much better price just about a month earlier.

I wish you luck in whatever you choose. Have a great time!

Well I was told by someone on the boards that the food at CSR was not that good. I was only at the resort for a short time and did not eat there. If you really liek Mexican I suggest the first night you get a PS for a table at the San Angel Inn at the Mexico Pavilion in Epcot. They have great food and good drinks. Try to arrive early and get a seat next to the ride, El Rio Del Tiempo (The River of Time). It is always a favorite with my family!

I've never stayed @ CSR, but it is beautiful, and if you like Mexican food, then go for it. :) We stay @ the CBR just about every week of New Years, and I personally enjoy every bit of it...esp since the decorations are still up...w/ the Christmas island music (heh). But I must warn you that this time of year is COLD...in Floridian language. 2 New Years ago it was in the 30s on one evening...I was wearing my big arctic coat from Chicago in Epcot LoL...I just needed to warn you about that.

HERE IS WHY YOU SHOULD STAY AT CBR

I spent two weeks at CBR and also visited CSR to decide where to stay for my honeymoon.

They both are nice.

However, here is what made my decision.

at CSR sometimes you feel out of the middle of things ifyou know what I mean.

at CSR if you go back to your room early you don't get to still be involved in Disney stuff.

However, at CBR you're right at the back of Epcot. You can even see the ball from various locations. However, you can also very EASILY see Illuminations from Epcot from the Beach at Old Port Royal. It is AWESOME. you're close enough to even here the music. I took video of it and you can even here the music on the video camera.

CBR is lively at night with an outdoor tiki bar where you can also see the fireworks since it's at Port Royal.

i think if you like stuff like that and like to feel involved even at your resort, CBR is where you'll want to stay.

By the way, the rooms at CBR are bigger than CSR by square footage, and the rooms are sparkling clean.

civileng68 - Thanks a bunch! That really helps a lot. Still feeling that we are part of the Disney magic is what we want. That is one thing we loved at POFQ, you still felt like you were in the magic. We loved the alligator character statues that were near the pool there. I like the fact that you mentioned that in CBR you could see the Epcot ball at certain areas and see/hear Illuminations! That sounds great, oh we can't wait to have a few drinks at the bar!! ha ha! I'm glad you mentioned the rooms being larger at CBR, any extra space helps out. Since we are 4 adults staying in the room that will definately help out. My fiancee is 6'3" and likes all the extra room when possible! :sohappy: I can't wait to be there!!! Thanks a bunch! Oh what building were you in? We are hoping for Martinique, we want to be as close as possible to OPR since we will already be walking all day at the parks. Do you know what kind of food they serve at the food court? Are there a lot of choices like at CSR?

Yellow Shoes:D - Thanks for the menu!!! Wow food sounds great there, especially for a resort food court! My stomach is growling right now! ha ha! I like the fact that there is a lot of choices. ahhh, decisions decisions....What time is the food court open till? :slurp:

THanks to everyone else that posted comments! I love these boards! I'm sorta expecting the weather to be cold, but I'll be used to it. I live in the San Francisco bay area where the weather seems always cold!!! :(

ok

We stayed in Aruba, the reasoning for that was, it is directly across from Old Port Royal. We wanted to stay there because we wanted to be able to get out and take a nice stroll across the bridge at night to get to Port "Royal. Martinique is nice. Most all of the places are EXACTLY alike except for location. All the rooms are the same except for colors. You'll like Martinique as you ARE VERY close to OPR.

The selection of food at OPR is good. There are about 5 different fast food places and one sit down restaurant. There is a nice store in there and things of that nature. The restaurants are open until 11:00. They have everything you could want, pasta, pizza, hamburgers and on and on and on. deli and such.

If you want (im not trying to promote my site).; I am building a new site. I have not worked on it in a while because I've been WAY too busy. However, at Christmas we were riding through Orlando and stopped to take pictures of CBR. I have them on the site if you want to see. I have about 100 more pics on my digital camera that I've just not added. I am getting cable internet in a week or so and wanted to wait until then to work on the site since connection speeds on web building can make life easier.

go to www.thewaltdisneyworldguide.com There are then two options. NOrmally you'd think to select the Disney Option, but don't, select the picture on the right. Then you'll see on the left an option to see the pictures of CBR. Remember this is before we actually went to these pictures are not as detailed. I also have about 30 pictures of Illuminations from CBR. I'll be adding all soon. I just dont like waiting on the slow dial up.

If you stay tuned on here and send me your email I'll let you know when I update it. When are you going?

Send me an email to civileng68@aol.com and I'll let you know when I update it or shoot you an email with a few of the pictures.

later.

PS: if you're younger. I seriously would recommend CBR over CSR. I really think CSR is for a more reserved crowd. I am 24 years old and I'm all about CBR. I love being so close to Epcot. One morning we walked out of our room and could hear just the regular park music playing at Epcot. You're basically right across the street from the BACK of Epcot. you're right at the back of Italy.
