Here’s the thing: DHS relies to heavily on theatre spaces for capacity. I felt with we built more high capacity attractions/dark rides, they wouldn’t need so many. Sure we shouldn’t eliminate all of them, just some of the dead weight (BATB, Mickey shorts, and mayybe indy for a good expansion).

Yeah. Just get it over with. The lake could have alot of space for a nice green area with fountains and stuff/maybe a flat ride, and the space of the leftover theatres could put in a new show. Echo lake is a concrete wasteland anyway. Imagine a lush, Central Park esque area with benches and trees and a fountain where the lake was!

It seems like they will be hyper focused on creating more and more high demand, high wait attractions with LL, far far more often than creating any new A, B or C tickets.

Thats a different argument.

The following D23 announcements say differently:

• Second Cars attraction
• Carousel with Encanto
• Walt AA
• Coco
• (maybe) Stark Flight Lab

Some of these (everything except Walt, probably) will have LL, but they're not super high end attractions.

God, there's an industry article on why they use this approach, for films. Let me see if I can find it. It's basically a balance of two things:

• Creating a new IP franchise is a tens-of-billions-in-profit opportunity with lots of risk
• Using an existing successful IP franchise generates more consistent revenue with less risk

I understand that. I'm not saying to make new IP for the parks but to do more like how Remy fits Epcot and the France pavilion.

My point is using IP is great and I expect them to do that. Why shoehorn it in wherever and theme be damned?

Its nothing like Tomorrowland Speedway/Autopia. Nothing.

Did you know, however, that one time there were 3 versions of Autopia at Disneyland at once.

As I've said: Will we get what they depict?
Perhaps two waterfalls will get cut down to one?
And just how large will they be anyway?
How large will that bit of water we splash through turn out to be?
I'd imagine ultimately we go over a small bridge with perhaps a splash effect which hopefully remains on.
In any event, none of it will be of the scale of the actual waterway that they are removing.
I hate to be this way, because I used to not be this way.
It's Disney of recent years who have made me this way.

Cars Land at DCA is truly fabulous, and despite its detail, its all hyper specific and doesn't allow for a sense of mystery.

It's also incongruent with the rest of Frontierland, which people have convinced themselves means rocks and trees, so it all fits, even if they're shaped like car parts and traversed by anthropomorphic cars.

It’s nothing like Autopia… because the cars have faces? It seems to be an outdoor car ride with very limited AAs. What differentiates it decisively from Autopia?

They likely will get rid of the first. But acknowledging that now begs the question of why they’re doing what they’re about to do to Frontierland / Liberty Square, and they’d rather not address that to the board, shareholders, or the fan community.

They just made it overwhelmingly more difficult to replace the first with anything meaningful thanks to the idiotic placement of Tron.

SGE sits empty, SM and CoP need major refurbs, the speedway continues to limp along, they never finished the makeover they started before TRON opened...
