MK Cars-Themed Attractions at Magic Kingdom

No, but they have / are adding lots of theming to enhance and plus the lands without taking away.
Nothing truly new is free of the mandate in those locations either. Things currently not meeting the mandate can skate by regardless of location (e.g. Test Track, Country Bears, Big Thunder, etc. in WDW). There’s just more replacement and less stasis/preservation in general at WDW right now.

I feel like TDO was looking to have a bigger Pixar anchor in MK, Buzz is nice but obv a small footprint, same with MILF which could very well be going away there. I think the location is not great for Cars, but the company and public still really love that IP. Would Cars have been better beyond big thunder, or not in MK at all? Cars def doesn’t seem to fit in Epcot, would DHS become too Pixar with it?

There's a lot to be said but one thing is for sure replicating Radiator Springs specifically anywhere else would hurt DCA. No when it comes to Cars attractions, they could build them anywhere and it would be good. But a duplicate of Cartland at DCA would hurt DCA in a major way

A lot of people don’t realize everything along the walkway in Frontierland is gonna get torn down (as it should, I am all for preserving things but with Rivers gone keeping all that infrastructure just makes no sense) anyone know when exactly they will close down Westward Ho, Big Al’s, etc?

Considering the boardwalk area behind those are staying, I assumed that they were staying too. Seems they're going to close so they can work on the boardwalk area

They are closing permanently as Disney will be re-doing that entire walkway area. (Ripping everything out, working on adjusting the views/ land elevation etc). I just don’t know when.

I mean there are two Galaxy's Edges and I don't see one hurting the other.

There were two of lots of things east and west coast when WDW was conceived and constructed.
Disney wanted to bring what was west, to the east coast.

There is no possible way that building a beautifully detailed version of Radiator Springs in DCA would have any bearing on DCA whatsoever.... Our Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Big Thunder, Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, Jungle Cruise, Space Mountain etc never hurt them ...not even the same Star Wars Land.... So, yeah..... no....

Not to get too off topic, but I've always said DHS would have benefitted best with a Star Wars Land replacing the Echo Lake Indiana Jones area, Muppets remaining, Cars Land where Galaxy's Edge sits today, Toy Story Land as is, and then Monstropolis in the Animation Courtyard.

This would have freed up the space in Frontierland for a better IP.
No, I think SOA was a far worse area that needed replacing over IJA, 50s primetime, and echo lake.

Closing a churro cart is the last freaking straw!

Would Hollywood Studios have benefited more from a straight Cars Land (Radiator Springs) clone rather than introducing Piston Peak? Given how Galaxy’s Edge struggles with brand recognition, I really think Disney is repeating the same mistake. Granted what they are building better fits into Frontierland than a Radiator Springs clone would have, but the point is there were certainly better choices For that area.

If they had only kept the idea of Pixar Place going rather than butchering it with that god awful land of oversized children's toys.

Oh, trust me, no one is worried about what will hurt DCA anymore.

Disney’s goal here was to delete RoA, TSI and the riverboat for multiple reasons; reduce maintenance costs, bring in an attraction that SELLS LLs and some social justice.

Putting Cars there makes no sense to me but it probably makes sense to the Disney spreadsheeters who actually make the decisions about the parks, NOT the creatives in the company.

The Disney spreadsheeters probably TOLD the creatives, “We want Cars here, make it work. And by the way, you only have this much money to do it so, CUT THE SCOPE as needed to fit the budget”
