I'm planning a late January trip for my family of five. We've stayed at POR and really enjoyed it, but CBR is considerably cheaper. I'm assuming this is because of construction. Here's my question for those of you who have stayed there and/or are familiar with what it's like to stay at a resort with construction: We pretty much just use the resort to sleep and we don't care about resort restaurants being closed. Would you recommend CBR for us this January? Thanks for the help!

Stayed there in May just as major construction began. Like you we just used it to sleep and ate in the parks so the restaurant being closed was not an issue. They do have a food tent available, however we did not eat there. The buses were no problem. If the price is ajusted for construction and you are just sleeping there I see no problem

i have never been there myself but my sister has. They said it was just ok. They did have longer waits for buses. i also have a friend who is there now and is having a terrible experience. their luggage wasn't delivered until 10pm(they arrived to the hotel at 11am). they have been having 40 min-1 hour wait times on all buses. and their room wasn't ready on time ( they couldn't get into the room until after 6pm even though they arrived at 11am, and requested early check in due to a few medical conditions and went to a park to kill time. don't know what's going on at the resort right now but just a heads up.

This was closer to the experience we had at CBR. When I was working with a travel agency prior to booking one of their reps told me they actually removed CBR from their resort options for clients because the management has major issues. We for sure felt that but if you plan ahead you can avoid a few issues.

Make sure you keep your luggage wth you and consider either renting a car or using Uber to avoid the long bus waits. The tent buffet isn't terrible but the food truck setup near the tent was the worst food I had at WDW, avoid that. Plan to have snacks in your room because the walk to the food area is long and there are very few options

On the plus side the main pool is fantastic and the theming is nice. If saving money is top priority without much resort time then it could be a good fit for your party.
