Given the way WDW Dinning Reservations are going? We will likely book all "non-Disney" Fine Dining, via Open Table & direct call, for our NOV 2021 trip. Saddened that Disney Restaurants have essentially cratered... we used to really enjoy them :(.

We would really like to give WDW our standard $185-$200 per plate... but if you can't BOOK it? It does not exist. WDW does not want the money.

I feel with them trying to make this a high price to view fireworks package, this will ultimately doom the Top of the World for DVC. However they do California Grill it's ultimately to make money off people wanting to use it for a good view.

There is no way Top of the World is going to come back what it was. They are going to charge for a perk that was once free for DVC owners. Definitely the trend going forward.
Here’s the thing though access is guaranteed to DVC members because it’s declared as part of DVC contract for BLT owners, it will prove interesting to see how Disney lawyers removal of a deeded portion of a DVC contract this because it will be the opening wedge for charging DVC members for parking

The BLT part is the key. They occasionally lock it down to BLT owners only as well at high demand periods. I could see it being a BLT owner perk (not sure if reservations are against the policy or not) and a paid activity for other DVC members.

Regarding Top of the World: it’s indefensible that it’s been closed for so long.

Regarding CA grill:
Star Wars GIF

Probably the hope is that BLT DVC members will 'forget' it belongs to them and then F&B will take it over as a 'signature' location and no the members will not see a reduction in MF's

I’m confused, what do you mean you can’t book it?

If access is guaranteed to DVC members, how did they get away with the paid events on July 4th and Dec 31st pre-Covid?

We just ate at the Cali Grill last night. I wonder if they’re already prepping for such a change. It was such a different experience than any other and not in a good way. It was a very limited menu and unlike other times when everything was made to order, any requests to change, alter or tweak anything were shut down before we could finish our sentences.
We can also now sympathize with everyone who has complained about being rushed through their ‘Ohana meal. Our waiter was asking what we wanted for dessert as soon as we ordered. I actually lost count how many times he asked us that question.
We ordered many apps, our meals, two bottles of wine and dessert. If our waiter had his way, we would have had all of that in 45 minutes or less. We purposely reserved a later time so we could enjoy the fireworks from our table. The pressure, the attitude, the lack of everything you would expect from such a restaurant was beyond disappointing.

CA Grill will still be open Oct 2, it will just be a different enough offering to where allowing people to book reservations for it without knowing what it is would be disingenuous.

Family style with bland boiled chicken, some steak, a sprig of broccoli and a couple carb dishes to fill you up? Oh wait no that's every other restaurant on property at the moment.

Since when did the rules apply to Disney corporate, what are the DVC owners gonna do Sue??? Sorry they cant it has to go to DVD’s captive arbitration company. Eventually Disney will push the owners too far and there will be a huge class action suit, And that day may be sooner than people think because of DVC creating new points out of thin air.
