Speechless.

Sooooo, you'll get up at the *** crack of dawn, to pay way too much for mediocre food, just so that you can beat all the other crazies to the kiddie coaster.

Obviously, I haven't tried BoG's breakfast service yet. But I am pretty familiar with WDW's counter service offerings. And I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

That's a lot of vitriol over a completely neutral comment, particularly when early breakfast ADRs are a well-known and frequently-recommended way for guests to gain pre-rope drop access to parks, both in Disney guidebooks and on these boards. As we only visit WDW once every 2-5 years and have never seen 7DMT in operation but are aware of its low capacity and long, fast-building wait times, getting there early to enjoy our first-and-only experience on 7DMT without a long wait would be something of a priority for me and my two small children.

(Sometime, a long time ago, a kiddie coaster really hurt you, didn't it? :()

So is it quick service or table service for breakfast? The characters aren't out at lunch, are they out at breakfast. I don't tip at quick service and I haven't seen the prices. One menu I saw for adults mentioned French Toast Sticks....not worth $20 to me. sorry if these things have been addressed elsewhere, if they have, please send me the link ...thanks

To my eyes they are aiming above mediocre.
Oh, it'll be fine. And the folks that do it will love it.

And this, as with all things Disney (and pretty much all luxury items), is all about what's it worth to you.

I am about to drop crazy money doing something crazy. And there are only 1 or 2 people here at WDWMAGIC that wouldn't think I had lost my mind. But it's worth it to me. No more explanation necessary.

Quick service (thus presumably no gratuity), no characters, and the article mentions a pastry basket for each table and prix fixe entree choices like eggs Florentine in puffed pastry with country ham and roasted tomatoes, an open-face bacon-and-poached-egg sandwich with Brie, a Cronut topped with banana caramel sauce, chocolate ganache and whipped cream, a vegetable quiche with seasonal fruit on the side, etc. No French toast sticks per se, although Brioche French toast with fresh fruit is mentioned as an item from the kids' menu. Drinks (juice, coffee, etc.) are included. It may not be fine dining, and it wouldn't be worth $20 in the real world, but compared with other breakfast options in the MK (e.g. Crystal palace for $27, CRT for $45), it's in the ballpark.

It's quick service. But that doesn't mean you order at a counter. If you've been during lunch, you order at a kiosk. By using the "magic" of the magic band (RFID chip), they bring your food to you on a cart after you find a seat at a table. The $19.99 cost for adults and $11.99 cost for children is inclusive of a pastry basket, one entrée, and a drink. The menu is confusing in that it looks like each individual entrée alone is $19.99. It doesn't work that way.

well entree and pastry basket seems like a whole lot of food...i wonder if they will pack what you don't eat and let you take it home...or in this case around the park to snack

I don't see why not. I think it's only at the buffets that you're prohibited from taking the uneaten portions of your meal with you.

sounds awesome to me. I'm not big on eating a whole lot for breakfast and neither is my husband, but it would be nice to get in the park early and since we're not the dinning plan it technically shouldn't cost us anything out of pocket.

I assume you meant, you're "on" the dining plan? A $20 meal would definitely be a good value for a counter service credit!

Thanks. We have been for lunch multiple times...just trying to figure out the original posts tax and gratuity issue....as I never tip at counter service...and honestly I don't remember reading the little 18% tip =X and 20% tip = Y on the bottom of the receipt at lunch. The food looks similar in size (not type of food) to what we had at the Star Wars breakfast at Sci-Fi last year. Nice, but nothing to write home about and portion sizes certainly not enough to warrant a take home box....although that was all you care to eat and they would bring you more of anything you asked for.

but isn't it an additional charge if you ask for something more? not a big eater but just curious about how this works....
