Theme: I’d try to recreate the Legendary Years resort concept, but go further back in scope to the 1870s-1950s, and go with a less “value” approach, making it somewhat more realistic but at the same time including references to the Disney properties set or made in those eras, such as a large Steamboat Willie as a water play area (also including PATF stuff and Oswald), the monkey temple from Jungle Book as an exercise gym, a Victorian Muppets shopping district (Muppet Christmas Carol), a Big Bad Wolf waterslide, a PATF restaurant, etc. Some general pop culture from that era is also thrown in but moreso in an educational context rather than a celebratory one, such as having a dance show covering dance styles and music from 1870-1954, featuring various Disney characters joining in to help dance.

Additionally: A Goofy Movie and Alice in Wonderland get sections at Art of Animation. Pop Century gets a 2000s section with giant statues of Stitch and Angel, Mike and Sulley, Jim Hawkins, and yes, even Sora.

I think a Star wars themed hotel would be a real money-spinner 🤔
The Galactic Starcruiser, an experience that was actually a good one with a few massive fatal flaws; had those flaws drag it down, so how would a bad hotel with some redeeming qualities do? /s

More realistically, it’s time to iron out the fatal flaws of Galactic Starcruiser, then redeem it somehow. Maybe test it at ODL instead of WDW? Perhaps direct access to not only Galaxy’s Edge but the entire park? Like how Grand Californian does? Perhaps cover multiple eras of Star Wars? More animatronics? I’d move that clip show thing (replacing it with MV3D, if not demolishing the place for a Stitch dark ride) from Tomorrowland to the hotel, too, as a bonus.

I've thought about this a few times and wonder what a hotel would look like at the back of EPCOT in the World Showcase. Rather than a tall towering structure more of a pavilion enhancing structure. For example, this new hotel could stretch across the Italy, American, and Japanese pavilions. The part facing the showcase would have facades enhancing the the theming of the surrounding building. The part facing Avenue of the Stars would be more a generic style front. Hotel could be built over top the Avenue of the Stars road and allow access to the park in the World Showcase area. This would not be huge resort but would cater to adults who may coming in to Orlando for a particular festival. Many guests would love a hotel so close to the showcase where they can quickly get to and from their rooms after a drink or two. At the top of the showcase facing facade would be nighttime water show area. If successful, the hotel could extend in both directions covering other countries around the World Showcase.

I have a few ideas...

  • Roaring 20s... pretty self explanatory. I'd put it close to DHS, possibly entrance
  • Japanese hotel, located behind Japan next to the Speedway fuel station. Access bridge to Japan pavilion/Epcot.
  • Deco Beach, themed to Miami Beach located at Disney Springs, behind Cirque du Soleil at the parking lot. Lots of art deco and nightlife that blends well into Disney Springs west side

Agree that a cool vibe hotel needs to be located at Disney Springs. Would be super convenient for guests after along day at the park and have instant access to tons of food and merch offerings. Could even have perks like top of the line for dinner reservations. From a branding side, this could even be themed to ESPN with themed room and lounges. Maybe even a super sized arena looking sports bar lounge with oversized tv's and a huge wrap around immersive screen. This could be a separate ticketed experience where you are buying access to a direct camera feeds during live event. Maybe a place that guests come for the big games, March madness, etc. The arena area, lobby and even rooms could have direct access to ESPN Bet.

The hotel could also feature a nice sized pool themed to a sports field and and indoor play area called ESPN GamePlan Arena. Concept could be modeled after a futuristic sports training facility, with sleek, industrial design elements (e.g., exposed beams, LED lighting) and ESPN branding throughout. The space would be divided into zones for different activities, each themed after a specific sport or extreme challenge. Basketball Courts, Pickleball Courts: Extreme Sports Zone: Rock Climbing Wall: Trampoline Zone and experiences for adults such as a Golf Simulator, Racing Simulator, and VR Experiences. Maybe put the headset on a play as a QB.

Tons of opportunity and would tap into a new crowd. With the EXPN Bet component, it would generate even more dollars.
