Birthday Memories at Disney World

Been a while, but I figure... Today is my Birthday, so lets hear Birthday Stories at Disney World! :king:

DH celebrated his birthday last year while we were at the Magic Kingdom. He said it was the best birthday he ever had! We had breakfast at Crystal Palace and he got a cupcake and autographed card from all the characters. PUSH sang him Happy Birthday and the Dapper Dans sang to him also! Was a very special day for him.

He's excited for this summer we will be back during his birthday and will be visiting Epcot that day which is his favorite park!

When I was little (probably around 4 or 5) we went to the Papeete Bay Verandah (I probably butchered the spelling) on my birthday (where Ohana is now) and the live band sang to me. The song was "Donna Moana Marie" and they sang "Sheryl Moana Marie". Then they sang Happy Birthday. It was one of the most embarassing moments of my life - but also one of the few VIVID memories I have of Disney from when I was really little.

I can remember going to Disney World during my birthday in October (we did this in 2004, 2005, and 2006; we probably did this a few other times too). I know for a fact that I did not go to WDW for my birthday in October 2007, October 2008, October 2009, October 2010, and October 2011.

Yay! I celebrated my 10th birthday at Disney (I'm now almost 24) and it was truly one of the best bdays I've ever had.

We started out the morning going to Epcot as a family (Mom, Dad, brothers who were 8, and 6) for some sort of character breakfast? All I remember is Chip and Dale presenting me with a mini birthday cake...for breakfast! That would never happen anywhere other than Disney (and I'd never be allowed to eat cake for breakfast anywhere else :lol. Epcot is always a blast. And we returned to our resort (Poly) to eat lunch at the restaurant there, I got another cake! We hung around the pool for a while and also went down to the beach.

My birthday was already special but then my dad did several things to make it extra special. First, I got to sit for one of those caricature drawings...they had set up in the Poly lobby off to the side. It had me riding a horse with a castle in the background and a little speech bubble saying "Where's my prince?" I still have it framed in my bedroom to this day. And then secondly, he told me he would take me out to any park I wanted, just me and him. We'd always gone all together as a family and I do love my brothers...but the prospect of picking where I wanted to eat, what I wanted to ride, ect was pretty amazing to a 10 year old girl. I picked MK as it's my favorite park.

I can't remember where we ate that night but I remember getting a third cake! (It's a good thing Disney requires a lot of energy or I would have been bouncing off the walls). My favorites at MK are Mansion, Splash, Space, Big Thunder, and Peter Pan (Philharmagic and Buzz, my other two favs weren't built yet) so we rode those repeatedly. And then dad and I watched the fireworks together...it was just a really special moment for the two of us. He was holding me up so I could see better and I remember just thinking how magical everything really did seem. Best bday ever!

I've only spent one birthday there. But my favorite part was when a little girl came up to me and said happy birthday. I thought that was so sweet of her.

Happy Birthday!

My sister and I surprised my niece for her 8th birthday. We told her we were having breakfast at the airport because we like watching the planes (8 year olds will believe anything) :lol: Then while we were there my sister pulled out a shirt for her that said, "I just turned 8 years old and I'm going to Disney World!"

Checking into our resort they were prepared for the "Birthday Princess" arrival with balloons for her and a birthday button. Then we went straight to MK where I reached into my backpack (she was wondering why I carried a big one) and pulled out a Cinderella dress. Then we hit the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique followed by dinner in the castle.

As for MY favourite birthday there. I was turning 24 that day and found out that most of my friends had plans and couldn't come out to celebrate

I wanted to go to MK to have the most magical birthday ever and found one friend to come with me. I was a CM then so we went via backstage and straight to Fantasyland. I got to the carousel and was surprised to find 18 of my fellow CM's and best friends there along with the CM's to run the carousel and we got to have it all to ourselves before the park opened :sohappy:

Anniversary Story.

Hope you don't mind but this happened on our anniversary two years ago. We were wearing our anniversary buttons [ badges ] and were first on this bus leaving AK. The driver spun round and said to my DW " So how long has it been for you guys?" Both of us were speechless,then we realised what he meant.:ROFLOL: We forgot we were wearing our anniversary buttons. I don't know who laughed the loudest,us or the driver. But all we had one thing in common,red faces.

I celebrated my 30th birthday at the Magic Kingdom. It was December, and while I was watching the afternoon parade, Santa Claus shouted above the crowd from his float, and wished me a happy birthday. He actually called me by name!

Those celebration buttons really do get you extra attention! Either that or I must have been a very good girl that year!

I was in total shock. We were standing about 5 rows back in people, not even close to the front. I felt like a kid again!

Whether it was Disney magic or a Christmas miracle, it was the best birthday ever!

I celebrated by 50th birthday at the World, and in addition to all the birthday wishes from CM's and the occasional cookie and cake at dinner, my two favorite memories were the Dapper Dans singing "Happy Birthday" to me right in the middle of Main Street, and Winnie the Pooh picking a flower from a bush and presenting it to me. I tucked it through my button hole and told every one I met about Pooh giving me that flower.

I'll be celebrating my 56th on the Disney Dream next year and can't wait for the new memories to come!

I celebrated my 33rd birthday at MK last August during our first family trip. Just being there with my husband and son made it a magical day! This year, we are doing another family trip during my birthday week, but we've had 2 trips in between, so this time we've planned for some additional magic - lunch at CRT and doing the Pirates & Pals fireworks cruise that night. I'm counting the days!:sohappy:

After a horrible drive down from Connecticut, we arrived at check-in at the Pop Century at the stroke of midnight on my 51st birthday. It was the first time we went down at Christmas time and it was just so magical, as we hadn't been down in over 5 years and this was the first time we were ever cashing in Disney dollars ($1148 of them). We spent the day taking it easy at DTD because we had tickets for the next night for the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Seeing that snow on Main Street was amazing!! That's why we went back the next two years in a row at Christmas time.

My DD now 20, celebrated her 16th birthday in the world. On the day we went to Animal Kingdom we were watching the parade and one of the female dancers went up to my daughter and said oh it's your birthday today? Then she stopped the parade and told everyone in the crowd to wish my DD a happy birthday on the count of 3. It was simple but it was cute and my DD loved it.

Have had two birthdays at WD personally. Every time I wear my Skagen watch with the Mickey face I remember getting it that hot May day at Mouse Gear.

I've never celebrated my birthday in wdw, but someone on here just recently shared their 40th birthday surprise and all the things Disney did for him and his family because his 40th was the same day as the Magic Kingdoms 40th! It was an amazing story! They went above and beyond.. Just goes to show how truly magical WDW is. I forget the username but its in the recent threads.

My wife and I had planned a trip to WDW in October 2011 to celebrate my 40th birthday. I was excited to go as Disney was celebrating the MK 40th anniversary. Being I was born on 10/5 I thought it was kind of cool that I would be able to get a few little things with the 40th logo on them and the 1971 date.
We booked Coronado Springs for the week as we had visited a few friends that were staying there and it looked refreshed and like a relaxing Mod I really wanted to stay at the Poly but did not want to spend a lot of money on the room.
The day we left for our stay we were running late normal the 90 minute drive to WDW from my home took almost 3 hours with several follies along the way like forgetting the camera, and diapers for the little guy. The whole way to the resort my wife was texting someone which I dismissed as work or a friend.
When I arrived at the guard booth for Coronado I was informed we were late and no one else was going to be checking in that night and to pull up in front of the registration building. When I got to the building there was a red carpet rolled out with CMs standing on either side. I did not think anything of this and saw my wife laughing. I got out of the car and they all stated singing Happy Birthday and brought me a bouquet of balloons. I was promptly greeted by the resort’s GM and photographers. I was then asked to follow them to register. I started to walk into the lobby as was told VIPs do not check in at the main desk. I was brought through a side door into a small lounge and offered a drink and asked to sign my check in along with some waivers for the photos. I Turns out my wife was texting the GM of Coronado Springs on our way to the resort so they could be ready when I arrived.
I was then told that there were some surprises for me over the next few days and was handed the first. It was an envelope containing 6 Fast Passes to be used on any ride I wished at the Magic Kingdom the following day.
I was then led back out into the main lobby where they began taking my picture at several of the landmarks of the hotel and then they had my wife and kids join me.
The GM asked if she could lead us to our room and she remarked that we would like it because it was near the main building. The photographers from the resort and WDW followed us snapping pictures. When we came to the room I turned to my wife and said I bet Mickey was inside that is why the cameras and the Manager came along. Well no Mickey…. When she opened the door it was dark and looked like we were being led into a hall way leading us to another area. The lights were turned on and it was a foyer to a large room filled with balloons and gifts for me, my kids and wife. The room was a 2 bedroom 3 bath suite. Complete with a dinning room, bar, living room and a Jacuzzi in the master bath. I had received several things with the WDW 40th anniversary logo on it from the resort from pins, to baseball caps and even Duffy Bears for the kids. Waiting for each was a picture from our favorite character. Being the Birthday Boy mine was that of the Fab Five. In addition was a great gift tray with party hats made of chocolate and other treats plus my very own Mickey given to be by the WDW. I also received a Birthday card from Mr. Holmes.
Along with all this we were given VIP seating for the MNSSHP Parade and was told more was to come. Then I was asked so do you still want to stay at the Polynesian??? I laughed and said no Coronado Springs is now my favorite resort.

The next day we received a note saying to be ready for text messages to come during the day that would guide us on where to go. Having the special FPs I could not imagine what was up. We received the first text saying to go to Town Hall. There we met with someone from entertainment and were lead across Main Street and through a back door. Waiting for us were Mickey and Minnie. I was offered a Birthday Cake hat which I proudly wore the rest of the day. My kids got a private audience with Mickey and Minnie for a good 15 – 20 minutes which really made my day knowing how much my kids love them.
After meeting Mickey and Minnie we decided to hit some rides not one CM would take my fast passes from me saying. It’s your magical day I’m not taking it! So we were able to make our way through quickly and have a few passes left. Which I saved for the MNNSHP the next night and for Toy Story Mania at HWS.
I received the next text the instructions were to go to the Astro Orbiter and ask for the manager he is expecting us. When I got there I was told we have been waiting for you as Disney understands this is the only ride you have never been on in all of your trips to MK. Well being I have a fear of heights... yes it was. Well only turning 40 once we made the trek up the elevator and on the ride where a PA announcement was made that this weeks marks the 40th anniversary of WDW and we have a special guest with us today who is also turning 40. Everyone clapped cheered and started singing. Needless to say my face turned red.
We had left the park after this to prepare for dinner at Fulton Crab House…one of my favorite places and Disney. I was presented with a beautiful Chocolate cake there. When we returned back to our room there was another huge cake waiting in the room from WDW. Unbelievable!
I asked my wife how much this all cost her and was told nothing. Disney was doing this all on there own! She then had told me she had sent a letter about our upcoming trip and how I was excited to be turning 40 the same week WDW and how I love Disney history. She had shared the email with me and it made me cry. She not only wrote this but a letter that reminded me what a lucky person I truly am. My wife went on about how I am a great dad that is very selfless and giving to others. She knew about the FPs and MNSSHP but had no clue about all the rest.
This was a truly magical trip and I was spoiled beyond belief. I still cannot get over the extent they went through just to give me a real Magical moment (well week really.) Thank you again to all the CMs at the Parks and the Staff of Coronado Springs and of course my wife!

Funny thing is I spent Memorial Day weekend at CSR. I got to see the GSM Miriam when I checked in. She is such a sweet person and shared how excited she was to be a part of the Magical Moments.
