Binoculars?

Any ideas as to why we need to bring binoculars, I have seen it on several packing lists and neither my hubby nor I can figure out what we would use them for.

If your far away from the action it might be useful especially for some firework shows or watching some stars at night or watching your kids at the wave pool at typhoon lagoon.

Might be good for Fantasmic, some of the stuff on the mountain? Probably good for the safari, if you go when the animals are actually active (we never seem to have this luck.)

It's so you can see the fastpass return times without having to go near the attraction - you will save a lot of energy this way.....

I actually took some in April but only because we were staying at AKL. I doubt I would ever take them round the parks.

Yeah, we took a small pair with us in December as we had a savanna-view room at AKL. We also used them at AK to animal watch. They were particularly useful to watch those primates that have those high platforms and ropes to play on. Siamangs I think they were.

We may have also may have used them to get a closer look at the celebrity narrator at the Candlelight Processional. I can't really remember because I was close to falling asleep at the end of a day that started by heading to the airport at 5am.

Maybe if you were staying at a monorail resort and had at MK view they'd be useful.

I would never bring a big pair of field glasses, but a small pair of spectator glasses can sometimes be useful.

I have never brought binoculars to WDW. But here are the times when I thought that they might be useful (actually, I was thinking more in terms of a telephoto lens, but not necessarily for taking pictures - just for seeing detail):

At AK for farther-away animals and theming details (I've never visited AKL, but I imagine they would be ENOURMOUSLY useful for savanah viewing).

At MK to see detail on the castle towers (espcially during the HCOE overlay) and to see Tink exit her window on the zip line.

From the MK resorts to see the park details better.

I probably wouldn't bring them because of the weight factor, unless I was driving. But that's just me.
