I think this would be the only solution for a an extended wait like WDW. Then again, if temperatures were what people reported last year, I think the thing would stay cool on it own... or even the runner.It seems like a good idea on paper, but I think it would be a problem in execution.
So I freeze this thing, and it lasts an hour. It takes that long before the gun goes off, at least. At WDW, you can be 2 -3 hours from the time you leave the room to the time your corral goes off.
I know the idea is sound. I have been sticking my hands in a sink of ice water for a long while now, not just when running but when hot from other activity. Sticking your legs in ice water after running is good too, but that requires a special set up (or a cold pool). It would be nice if it stayed really cold for a long time, maybe after you activate it.
I may try it, but not for $50. If it comes down a bit I would do it.
