Wow, it’s been quite a while since I’ve done one of these. For all you who don’t know, or forgot what this series is about, it’s basically a place for people to list down restaurants they like, be it for the food, theming, price or convenience. Today we’ll be focusing on all the wonderful hotels and resorts dotted around property. So WDW fans... What are your favorite restaurants at the resorts? And if you were to reccomend 1 thing from them, what would it be?

I'll give this one a go:
  1. 'Ohana- Polynesian Resort- it is a must do for us every trip.
  2. Boma- Animal Kingdom Lodge- be there for rib night
  3. Sanaa- Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Village- best non-buffet style resort restaurant imo, different menu
  4. Yachtsman- Yacht Club- wonderful steaks, very expensive
  5. The Wave- Contemporary Resort- very underrated
  6. Kona Cafe- Polynesian Resort- good food, service has been subpar when we have gone
  7. Chef Mickey's- Contemporary Resort- average breakfast, great for characters
  8. 1900 Park Fare- Grand Floridian- excellent characters at breakfast, typical buffet
  9. ESPN Club- Boardwalk- solid food and ambiance, nothing special
These are the ones I have personally eaten at

My favorite resort restaurants are:

1. Ohana Dinner - the entire meal but especially the bread pudding, which can also be found at the lounge during dinner hours
2. Kona Cafe breakfast - pineapple macadamia pancakes
3. Sanaa dinner - the bread service, which can be found at the lounge. They removed my favorite entree and dessert though.

My vote goes to Sanaa. It's the total package. Setting, service and food. All top, top class. Big fan.

Honorable mention for Victoria & Albert's. As a one-off it is as near perfection as you can get! I just wouldn't be visiting every week like I'd gladly do with Sanaa

Best of the Best: V&As. I only wish I could afford to dine there every visit.
Signature: Citricos. Especially the Chef's Domain if you have a group.
Non signature: Sanaa- wonderfully themed, with an interesting menu that isn't all the same bland stuff served everywhere
Buffet: Boma for both breakfast and dinner
Character meal: 1900 Park Fare- Cinderella + strawberry soup. 'Nuff said
Dinner show: HDDR because....it's HDDR

The California Grill is not only my favorite WDW restaurant - it's my favorite restaurant anywhere on the planet! Great, fresh sushi, and an award winning beef filet, all with that incredible view over the Magic Kingdom.

Yes
So many great restaurants have already been said! Here's a few of mine, in no particular order.

Flying Fish (Boardwalk) - a Manhattan and the steak was actually amazing
Trattoria al Forno (Boardwalk) - Breakfast - who cares what you eat, the characters are the best! (the food was good too though!)
Sanaa (Animal Kingdom - Kidani) - bread service.
Kona Cafe (Polynesian) -Lapu Lapu and pot stickers

Do you recommend Ohana for dinner?

I am a relative newbie compared to a lot of people on this board, but some of my favorites include:

  • Liberty Tree Tavern (although it is not as 'must do' as it has been in the past)
  • Boma (either breakfast or dinner)
  • Cape May (but only if you love seafood. There is other stuff on the buffet, but in my opinion, not enough to justify the cost if you are just going to eat chicken and salad..)
We have also enjoyed:
  • Garden Grill (breakfast)
  • Tapen Edo (but it is not distinctly better than your local hibachi place)
  • Trail's End (It's a great price (for a Disney buffet), and it's a nice boat ride from MK, and quick walk from the dock)
  • Ohana (breakfast. I didn't love dinner, but I'm not a fan of sweet seasonings on meats, but I second the recommendation for the bread pudding)
Since there are so many places, I try to not repeat experiences until I have tried more.

Our list of must do's. Not all accept DDP. In order of "best"...

  1. V&A - no surprise :). NO DDP, NO TIW. Expensive & worth it :).
  2. SHULA's Dolphin. NO DDP, TIW accepted. BEST for STEAK and/or LOBSTER.
  3. California Grill. DDP & TIW. Always excellent.
  4. Il Mulino Swan. NO DDP, TIW accepted. BEST Italian on property.
  5. Narcoossee's. DDP & TIW. Always excellent. Go for the REAL Surf & turf (extra with DDP).
  6. Citrico's. DDP & TIW. Always excellent, menu a little limited these days.
