Best way to get to the Grand Floridan from Downtown Disney?

This will be our first visit to the world. We have a 6pm dinner res at 1900 Park Faire at GF. Going to DD to explore before dinner. Is there a bus to take us to GF from DD?

There should be a direct bus from DTD to GF. The DTD buses go to all the resorts, but none of the theme parks.
The buses can be a bit slow to get there, though, so allow for plenty of time to get there!

You can take the bus. Just wait for the one to the Grand Floridian.

If you have a reservation - and will be at DTD - the best thing to do is drive yourself there. Else, I think you need to take a bus to TTC, and then just ride the resort monorail to GF. Opps, forgot it's not a park, so should be a direct bus to GF too.

Pick up a bus right n DTD, I would start waiting for the bus no later than 4:30. Sometimes if you just miss the bus it can be up to 20 minutes before the next one arrives. And of course you want to account for traffic. If you get there early you can always stroll the grounds of the grand flo.

What olinecoach61 says. It's a beautiful resort, so allow yourself some time to explore it before dinner. But if you cut it a little closer - say, start waiting for a bus at 5, or you arrive at the bus stop only to see a bus to GF pulling out - there is a possible alternative. Take a bus to Poly or Contemporary, then monorail from there. This will not take less overall travel time than a direct bus, but if you're worried about having missed a GF bus or that you don't know when the next bus will come, it's an option.

At that time of day, there is no reason to start waiting for the bus before 5:00 pm for a 6:00 dinner reservation. During that time, the number of busses slightly increases to "destination" resorts (i.e. those that have popular restaurants, or adjacent to things like Boardwalk)...You will find they run about every 20 minutes at that time. You can pick up the bus either from the Marketplace or from the Pleasure Island area.

The bus to goes to the GF includes the Poly/Contemporary or Wilderness Lodge. GF is the last stop notoriously. I always laugh, the people that pay the most money get catered to last.
