It looks like I will be venturing to the World once again, but this time with my husband's family. We're dining plan-less but we want to get some ADRs at some select restaurants. What places are ideal for a party of 14? I thought of Ohana, of course, as a good place. Any others?

Also, I've personally never eaten breakfast in the world-- any suggestions?

Ohana' is a great choice for dinner and for breakfast as well. Biergarten can easily accommodate large parties if you like German food. Most others can accommodate large parties as well. You just might have to sit at separate tables of course.
For breakfast we always do a ressie at Kona and Boma every trip. Boma is easily the best buffet on property and Kona everything is delicious especially if you order the Tonga Toast!!! :hungry:

I got married at Disney this summer and we had large (20+ people) meals at both Whispering Canyon Cafe and 'Ohana. It was crazy packed in both restaurants, but our servers still managed to do a great job! As far as breakfast goes, I really love 'Ohana. We also liked Crystal Palace breakfast because we were able to enter the park early and get some incredible Photopass shots of us in front of the castle, sans crowds.

Ohana's a good choice since they have that long set of tables down the center of the room. At a lot of venues you may find yourself split up. My dad owned restaurants when I was growing up and he always says the best thing to do is ask for a first seating so that you have the best chance of being sat together. We're going with a group of 16 in early October and that's how we did our adr's. I would think a place like 50s ptc could be fun with a big group. With groups over 10 we've done citrico's, artist's point, yachtsmans, ohana's, brown derby, 1900 park fare, cali grill, wolfgang puck's, via napoli, and la hacienda.

My suggestion for the large group would be Via Napoli. It can handle the large crowds & is "reasonably" priced since you are not on the dining plan.

As far as breakfasts go, I typically eat light for breakfast so that I am not cutting in to park time. However, I have enjoyed Tusker House & Kona Cafe for breakfast. I cannot pronounce a single thing I ever ate at Tusker, but it is good.

Our rehearsal dinner (22 people) was at Turf Club @ SSR a couple of years ago. Had to break us up into 3 tables, but we were in a little alcove so that worked out as we were the only people in that area of the restaurant.

Via Napoli would be great with the big table running down the middle of the restaurant. Plus pizza is easy to split

We went to the Hoop dee Doo with a group of 14 and had a total blast. The unlimited beer, wine and sangria is great for a group!

Ohanas for dinner is great, but a bit cramped with a large party. For the ultimate large party dinner experience, i recommend California grill. They have a separate room surrounded by windows with spectacular views, plus if you plan it right, you can see the fireworks! For breakfast, Cape May cafe does a great job, not nearly as busy as Chef Mickeys, great buffet, characters and service. The a nice 5 minute walk to EPCOT.

We are taking a group of about 40 family and friends to Disney for our wedding, but we thought about doing a big welcome breakfast at Crystal Palace. Did they let you book a party that big before the 180 days out, or did you have to wait to do it at the 180 day mark? thanks

We did not do a large group reservation at Crystal Palace; it was just my husband and I on our honeymoon. All of our large group meals were booked outside of the parks ('Ohana, Whispering Canyon, Garden View Tea Room) because we did not wish to put our guests in a situation where they HAD to purchase park tickets. Traveling to FL was expensive enough for many of them!

But yes, our large group reservations were all booked at 180 days.

Thank you soo much! that helps a lot! We are having them buy tickets for the parks... But I do like the idea of 'Ohana actually for a group dining location.

The first time I ate at Ohana was with a big group. 11 people I think. It worked really well!
