Best Place with a Tripod?

Hi y'all.

Just curious- where would the best place be to photograph the castle, during the fireworks, with a tripod? Obviously not going for a straight shot from Main Street, as that would be chaotic, but I'm wondering if there's a quiet corner of the Hub, like the Crystal Palace veranda or even closer to Liberty Square where I could set up for some long exposures.

Thanks!

I'm not the photographer of the family, DW is. Every trip I think she buys a different camera or lens or some camera accessory for taking better shots than on the previous trip. Her set up spots vary but I know shes gotten some great pics of the Castle fireworks by the Plaza restaurant. Shes also gone by the Crystal Palace side but there are more obstructed views from there. I would think Liberty square would not be as good because of limited spacing and having access for better views.
Why not go over in the day with the tripod and position yourself in a few of those spots, take a few trial pics and see what works best.

Interesting thanks. I think my biggest concern is the crowd control they enact over there. Will a CM tell me to move and ruin my shots?

I'm not sure if there is even a DAS viewing area. If there is, I might feel bad setting up with wheelchairs in the area for fear of blocking someone.

On prior trips, we have done the dessert party so I set up in those areas. Great chill experience, but I didn't like the light towers in my shot. This last trip, I set up right on Main Street, on the curb of the street to give a little extra height. I loved the shots and had great sight lines, but I won't lie. It was stressful as the crowds closed in.

Have you considered the back side of the castle and maybe photographing over the Beast's castle?

I didnt think they allowed tripods in the parks. Or is that just selfie sticks?
Selfie Sticks are indeed banned in the parks.

Tripods are allowed in the parks with a couple of boundaries. They must be able to collapse to a size to fit in/on your backpack. When extended, they should not be taller than the photographer.

The most important rule of using a tripod in the park is to never make an obstruction of yourself or impede the safe flow of traffic and always be in contact with your tripod when it's propped up in the park. For example, don't set it up and then walk away to get a 'selfie' of yourself with some backdrop\.

Most of the 'good' tripod locations to shoot a fireworks show will be taken (not necessarily by tripods) hours before the show but there are indeed some good locations to consider that aren't in the scrum of main street (which requires a crew of blockers for safety.

Here are some examples from key locations:

Along the rail in front of Crystal Palace (A little old so the trees are more grown now

Right on the edge of Partners (up against the bench surrounding it)

Don't rule out the train station platform if you can camp out earlier enough to get right on the rail. This one was during the once-a-year no flagpole day when the used to tape the Christamas parade in early December.

Another options is to stand right on the curb at the end of main street under where the Christmas tree would be during the holidays. You'll have to park yourself there for a good long while in advance but the curb gives you an extra 5 or 6 inches to get you above pop-up kids that arise the moment the first shell launches

Photos 1 and 3 are perfect. Gonna try for Crystal Palace.... maybe the Train Station if I have time. I don't mind getting there a bit early...
