So if we switched from POR to Coronado Springs we get free dining... yeah. My DH is being difficult because he likes taking the boat to DTD .... Can someone tell me which area is best to book in at CS? I really want to convince him to make the switch.

I loved the Casitas area. Already close to a bus depot but also a short walk to "El Centro" (central area containing food court, restaurants, gift shop, registration).

It will depend on whether or not you want to be close to the lobby, food court etc. If you do, buildings 1, 2, 3 and 9B are ideal.

If not, building 8A and 6A would be my choice as they are close to both the main pool and a bus stop.

I love Cabana area because it is between the big pool and the food area and the sandy beach with the hammocks are in front of the Cabana section

We were in Casitas 5 which was really nice from a bus standpoint. Casitas 4 and 5 are the closest to bus stop 2 which is the first stop on the bus route around the resort. Makes it nice because when you are coming back from the parks, you are the first stop on the property and when you are going to the park (unless you are going at a weird time when most everyone is coming back from the parks), you generally get a mostly empty bus which ensures you get a seat. Casitas 5 was also reasonably close to the main pool. Getting to El Centro (mostly to get drinks refilled or to pick up stuff we had sent to the gift shop) was a bit of a walk though...

The cabanas are our favorite section. We just booked business class with the FD promo for November so that will put us in Cabanas 9b. If I were you request cabanas 8b if staying in a standard view room. It's right across the path from the pool, a short stroll to el centro and the bus stop is right there. We have stayed in that location twice and its are favorite. CSR is our favorite moderate resort and we have stayed at them all multipule times.

Coaster Lover is right. We stayed in Casitas 4 and that was the best location for transportation purposes. It is the first stop for pick up and drop off. The walk to the bus stop (#2) takes about two minutes.

CSR is a nice resort.

We've stayed in the Casitas and Ranchos section. Of the two I preferred Casitas. Ranchos was quiet, but it was much more of a trek from the car and at the end of the day my poor feet just couldn't hang.

Lucky you by the way! We couldn't seem to get a Coronado Springs this year and ended up with a Caribbean Beach reservation.

I'm partial to the Ranchos, myself. They're the most extensively-themed of the 3 areas, and by far the quietest.
You've got to be able to do the walking, though.

We are staying at CSR 15-29th August :) which area of cabanas is nearest to El centre and a bus stop please? Haven't stayed at this resort in quite a few years x
