Beach Club Resort

I am planning a trip with my wife and daughter (10) to the Beach Club in March. I have been to WDW many times and usually stay at the Grand Floridian or Polynesian. We wanted a change and heard The Beach club was very good (especially the pool). We booked a concierge lagoon view room. Where are these rooms located (special floor?)? Do they have balconies? How close to the Storm-a-Long pool? How long does it take to get to the Magic Kingdom? Is it noisy?

We love Y&B. We stayed there in Feb 2001 (YC) when I was pregnant and are going back to BCV in March also. SAB is closer to Beach Club then YC. I love the theming and the resort is very beutiful. I did notice that there was a large convention at BC when were were there (eveyone was from Japan and there was signs in Japanize all over.)

Be careful, many rooms at BC only have a small standing room only balcony. ( I would hope a concierge room would have a full size one). All Y&B are full size. The view is great, we were upgraded and just loved it.

The buses to MK were fine, if you really feel like it you can walk through Epcot to monoril and over to TCC. (a bit out of the way.) And you are close to 2 parks (EPCOT and MGM.)

We did have a problem with noise at the resort. There apeared to be many drunk adults who didn't care much about being respectful to other and took atantave of their room being only a short walk from the bar. We were very close to the elevator. One lady was screaming in the hallway in japanize (sp wrong sorry) at 3:00 in the morning. Of course as I already said I was pregnant and really just wanted to relax and sleep, I wasn't in the mood to be messed with to start with!

The resort is top quaility and very fun enjoy concierge service. We are happy with a one bedroom, just want to but the kid in her own room!!!!

Oh I forget, I just read in the DVC news today that the water slide at SAB will be closed for referb unitl April 2 2003. How disapointing. The rest of SAB will be open.

We stayed there for Thanksgiving. It was our first time. We had some problems. One was that our room was not ready when they said. We had to wait an extra one hour and I had reservations at the Yacht Club Steakhouse, which is within walking distance. The room we had (standard) was a little too small for three of us. The bathroom was small - you could almost hit the toilet when you opened the door. There was not enough dresser space. The view was of the Boardwalk which is really nice. I used their laundry facilities and found them lacking. It took 10 minutes to wind your way through the maze of corridors to get to it. The Pool is the only saving grace. It is within feet of the hotel. It gets a little crowded but it is big enough to accomodate them without too much trouble. There is one other pool - a quiet pool - between the BC and BCV you can use. Also be aware. On top of the dresser is a load of candy and such. DO NOT TAKE ANY. They count it and charge you for it, including the cups and other little souvenirs. Otherwise it is a pretty place and really convenient to EPCOT. The boat ride to MGM is fun too.

My sister stays here every time she goes to WDW. Beach Club concierge witht at lagoon view. I do believe that the concierge level is on the 5th floor. I would specifically ask for a full balcony when speaking to the CRO. I didn't find it noisy at all. The only downfall that (my husband) found was that there was only one centralized set of elevators.
