We have lunch reservations at BOG in December. It’ll be 2 adults and a 2 year old. I know that being 2 he wouldn’t be forced to have to pay for the kids pre fixe meal, but is there an a la carte option to order food for him? He’s at the age where he would rather have his own meal instead of eat from our plates, but he doesn’t eat enough to warrant paying for a 3 course meal…

I don’t know about BOG specifically, but we had a 2-year-old at Snow White and Topolino’s and the servers offered to bring him a plate of Mac and cheese. He had his own plate and his parents supplemented from theirs.

At the prix fixe restaurants, we would just say "he's two years old and we would prefer not to order him a complete meal - is there an option to bring him a small portion of something kid-friendly?" I suspect every restaurant has something for the little ones other than just eating off your plate.

I’m sure there’s something (probably pasta or Mac and cheese) that they will bring your small one. We went in Feb and May with our then 2 year old and the set price places all offered something.

I don't have kids but only many nieces and nephews, glad to help. If I'm not mistaken after reading: a kids meal consists at BOG of an appetizer, and entree. and 2 to 4 sides....Sorry, but BOG doesn't have a la carte menu. I've read where the Beast will visit 3 of the rooms, which may be kind of scary for them being 2. The enchanting rose may be more up their speed along with the room that snows.

We are debating changing our dining plans entirely for our MK day now, but that is good to know in case we stick with what we've got planned!

Not to worried about him getting scared, this kid has no fear most of the time and if he does get scared of something all we normally have to do is explain its not going to hurt him and he is okay. He's been to WDW before and experienced characters with no problems we just haven't done BOG with him yet.

To be quite honest, I particularly really enjoy the Crystal Palace more than BOG. But, I'm I lean a lot more towards Winnie The Pooh ad Friends. Who doesn't LOVE them???? Sorry, I'm an adult, but I enjoy dancing with Pooh Bear, Tigger, Eeore and Roo. They're especially a lot of fun during Mickey's Not So Very Halloween event where you can get a closer interaction with them, along with many characters that aren't out during the day which can make it even more special for everyone. I'm sure the Christmas event is a whole lot of fun, even though we've only dont it just a few times! Have a most wonderful and remarkable Disney trip!

All I can say is don't expect much from the food. BOG is nice for the atmosphere, and I've done it multiple times for my kids... but as a place to enjoy food it was not high on the list. As the other poster recommended Crystal Palace, it really is a much better option for a family with a 2 year old... it is also more likely to have food you will actually enjoy. If you are dead set on BOG, if you can do an early breakfast that gets you in before rope drop you can at least use the early access to get the mine train when you're done... I would also strongly suggest you avoid dinner, it is probably the worst value for the price.

BOG ceased to offer breakfast when the parks reopened in July 2020 following the pandemic closure. Lunch and dinner are now the same prix fixe menu.

Good to know. Now I have another reason to convince my girls that we have already done BOG enough to last a lifetime.

We ended up changing our plans and are doing skipper canteen which we eat at every trip and know what to expect. Thats kinda sad about the food not being great, the last time we ate there (pre kids) was when it was still a counter service at lunch and at that time the food wasn't bad.
