so, have you seen the menu for the new be our guest restaurant? its ridiculous! what the bleep are they thinking with that bleep? i know its supposed to be fancy and all, but how about some real food, for real people? and it doesnt show any kids menu. what kid wants to eat pan seared salmon with leek pasta, or something like that? i was so excited when i saw the walk through, but then i saw the menu. :mad:

I think some of it is just a matter of looking past the title...at least in some cases. While the salmon with leek fondue may seem more fussy and may be one of the more elevated items on the menu, I think their assumption is something more generic like the grilled strip steak should appeal to more picky patrons. I mean, it's just a strip steak and French fries. Some of it also also the wording...i.e the pork may sound more fussy, but it's all a matter of presentation/wording falling into line with the surroundings ...when in reality it's just a pork chop w/mac & cheese and mixed veggies.

I thought the same thing until doing some research on the menu names. Most are really fancy names for good food like steak and french fries and roasted chicken etc.... served in a really pretty setting! I am looking forward to eating there in December!

It all looks pretty good to me, and the last time I checked, I am indeed a real person. I think it's nice that the Be Our Guest menu isn't the same overly-simple, homogenized offerings served everywhere else in the Magic Kingdom. Kudos to Disney for creating a restaurant that will cater to the other side of the guest spectrum, who want good food (and drink) at dinnertime rather than characters and buffeteria food.

Um..mine would.. mine do not eat "kid food".. I am excited for this place!

i like the choices and i like the kids choices. Disney needs to get away from the kids meals of pizza and mac and cheese, even at the signatures, and they do that here. im looking forward to the different items. if i wanted the same stuff i can get at red lobster and outback, i wouldnt go on vacation and try these great places. i guess to each their own. if you dont like the food, try somewhere else.

I think the menu does make it sound a little fancier that it is but there are some fairly simple items on the lunch offerings, e.g. carved turkey sandwich.

If it's burgers and nuggets you are looking for, there are plenty of other place in MK to get them.

Actually, I am excited there is real food for kids on there. Of course, my son just aged into "adult" at 10, but he would have been so much happier with that menu as a "kid". My daughter is picky as Hell, but as long as there is salad, she will be fine.

i can't wait. dinner reservations and will try to hit it up for lunch so i can check the main room and one of the smaller rooms for dinner (still undecided on which one to ask for though)

We are so going there, all my kid eats it french fries so that's not a big deal and DH and I like to try new things. If they were serving anything my son wants to go. It's kind of exciting to have something new at the MK.

The carved turkey sandwich is actually pretty good, as is the steak sandwich. We got to try it on Sunday during a special CM lunch dining preview.

sandwich seems ok, but I am hoping Disney lets me get a side salad instead of fries. So tired of everything in the world having fries!I feel like they are trying to bloat us with oil so we don't run as fast for those fastpasses!:D
