Bay Lake Tower Question

Hi Everyone,

The family and I are heading down to BLT tower next Sunday( Yes!) and I read on another forum that the BLT won't provide the roll away bed in the room for safety concerns.

Is that correct? We have a 1 bedroom villa and was wondering has anyone else either experienced this first hand or even heard of this? I know they have a love seat that pulls out but we want to be able to have the extra bed in the bedroom, and I was told that that the chair wouldn't fit in the doorway of the bedroom.

How do they rectify this? Do they give an air mattress then if asked?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.....Thanks again

When I was in a 1-BR Villa (at the Beach Club Villas), there was a chair in the bedroom already.

How many people do you have in your party?

It's a pretty big bed in the 1-bedroom. Not sure there would be room for a rollaway in there, would be very tight(either on the patio side or on the bath side of the bed). I don't think there would be room at the foot of the bed either for a rollaway. There is a chair in the bedroom but it doesn't fold out. There is also a small desk in the corner.

The love seat pulls out to a queen or full size mattress(big enough for two). There is also a chair that pulls out into a bed that sleeps one. Both are in the "living room area." No way the chair will fit in the bedroom.

Air mattress may work but i'm not sure they provide them, i've never tried.

We were just there in a 1 bedroom and there was a fold out love seat and fold out chaise in the living room already. Wife and I had bedroom and two daughters used foldouts.

Thanks for the help....we will have 5 in our party and my son makes a big deal about not wanting to share the bed with anyone. We will have a 1 year old in the room with us in the crib and my mother staying in the sofa sleeper in the front room. So.....we were looking into out options for the extra bed.

Check out this thread:

You can drag the sleep chair into the master. It's heavy and needs to be turned on its side to do it, but it can be done. If you swap the sleeper chair with the regular chair already in the MBR it will fit, but when opened there will not be a lot of extra space.

Hahaha! I was just about to look up that particular thread and repost my picture! You beat me to it:D !

First, I moved the chair in the master out to the LR. Then, I slid the twin-sized chair using the provided sliders (already under the chair) toward the master. It was my cousin-in-law who suggested taking the cushions off and then flipping it on its side to shimmy it thru the doorway. The day we checked out, I did this whole process by myself, quite successfully I might add;)! And, as you can see from my picture, our youngest daughter (3 y.o.) shared the king bed with my DH and I.

BLT 1-bedrooms have a king bed (master), and both a queen-sized sleeper sofa AND twin-sized sleeper chair in the LR...so, you will not need to worry about finding a rollaway bed or bringing an air mattress for your older child (linens are provided either in the master or hall closet for both sleepers; but we brought along an extra blanket for the twin sleeper). If you're planning on putting a crib in the master, there will be no room for the twin sleeper sofa...it's one or the other, definitely not both. So, you will not need to worry about navigating the twin sleeper into your master.

Planning on trying this in November. Last time we stayed I didn't move it, but we have 2 families in a 2 BR so we may want to use the LR and kitchen after the kids go to bed.

Totally doable! BLT is one of our favorite resorts (now), because of the 1-2-bedroom set-up, decor, and resort location!

Wow...thanks everyone for the help. You have all been great!

When I called the hotel this weekend and spoke to them they specifically told me it could not be done. The chair is "way to big to make it through the doorway" was their exact words.

It's a load off my mind to see that it actually can happen. Again I appreciate the help and the pictures to verify were great as well!!

If it comes down to it then just pull the cushions off of the chair and put them on the floor in the bedroom or tell him to sleep in the tub.
Brings back memories of college:). If you go with the tub I suggest a 12 pack of cheap beer and some tequila shots. You'll sleep like a baby. It will take a few minutes to figure out where you are in the morning.

We stayed at bay lake tower last year in the 1 bedroom and they gave us a air mattress at a fee and it fit fine in the living room without moving much furniture around
