Bay Lake Tower or Wilderness Lodge?

I am planning a trip to WDW in September. I can't decide rather to stay in a studio villa at Bay Lake or a courtyard view at Wilderness Lodge. It's an Anniversary trip so just my wife and I. Any suggestions?

both have a great location, i assume you're aware the lodge is a bit less $$ per night. i guess it depends on your preference, do you like the rustic/cabin type look? i'm an outdoors guy so i'd take the wilderness lodge. i've never been to the bay lake area though so maybe i'm not the best person to comment. either way you're real close to the kingdom.

The Lodge is just great for an 'escape' and is absolutely beautiful inside and out. With FW next-door it is a vacation in and of itself. But BLT is iconic, has the monorail and a walk to MK. That is a nice plus. I think it comes down to decor/theming and what you consider romantically appropriate for both of you on an anniversary. I'm biased, but for us it's WL. On the other hand, our daughter wanted to stay at the Contemp for her honeymoon.

Definitely Wilderness Lodge. The studios at Bay Lake Tower are TINY. Smaller than the studios elsewhere. You'll get more room in a standard room at Wilderness Lodge. Plus you'll have dining right there--not a skybridge away.

We're staying at BLT in September, but I admit the WL is a much more immersive resort. BLT is fairly standard looking inside and out. The location can't be beat though. Walking back to your room after wishes instead of dealing with transportation is a huge plus, and we love the Contemporary restaurants and being on the monorail.

The Lodge has the most amazing atmosphere that hits the second you walk in. I know so many people have been so Dissapointed at BLT and contemp and said they would never ever stay there again. You will
Love the lodge.

Thanks for the help. I don't know why this is such a hard decision. LOL. I have already changed resorts 3 times, started with Poly villas and guess that's still an option as well. I like being on the monorail/walking distance to MK since we will be there a little more than other parks with Halloween Party and early reservation at CRT. Just can't make a decision

I've never stayed at The Wilderness Lodge villas, just the resort. But my home DVC is BLT and I love it. The ground floor studios are actually bigger than the upper floors, so if you stay there I'd request the 1st floor. If it's just two people I think the studios are plenty big. Plus you can walk out of your room from your sliding door. You also have the benefit of walking to MK and being one monorail stop away from transferring to EPCOT. There's also a bridge on the fifth floor of BLT to the Grand Canyon Concourse of The Contemporary, the level where you get the monorail. You also have the benefit of the lounge Top of the World for an amazing view of the fireworks, and a bar with appetizers to purchase.

For theming and "immersive" qualities, Wilderness Lodge is better. If you plan on spending a lot of time at your resort (or in your room, wink wink nudge nudge), Wilderness Lodge is better. And you are a short bus ride/boat ride/walk to Fort Wilderness with the amenities offered there. You are a short boat ride away from Contemporary. You are a short boat or bus ride away from MK. I'd consider WL the more romantic of the two resorts.

What BLT has going for it, by a country mile, is the better location. By being on the monorail you have easy access to Poly and GF with their restaurants if you plan on doing a lot of sit down dining. Plus the aforementioned boats to WL and FW. By being walking distance to MK it's quick to get back to the room if you want (wink wink nudge nudge) and that might be more important to you than the resort's theme. I find Contempo Cafe easier to negotiate than Roaring Forks on the days you want to get up and go. And while I've got nothing against Whispering Canyon Cafe, I'm not in love with their food (quantity over quality). Artist Point? Awesome. But at BLT/CR you have two of the nicer restaurants easily accessible (Cali Grill & The Wave) plus for fun and shenanigans Chef Mickey's.

So it really boils down to theme vs. location. What's more important to you?

I loved staying at the Wilderness Lodge. But as someone whose crazy for monorails, having this BLT balcony view was extremely awesome!
And I understand the Lake Views are pretty magical as well.

Wilderness Lodge. It's my favorite resort and I've stayed there twice so I'm a bit biased. It such a beautiful place and would be perfect for an anniversary. It sounds like you may have already stayed at Contemporary and Poly already since you said you like being on the Monorail. Try something different and stay at the WL. The boat can take you to the Magic Kingdom and its a different experience than the Monorail.
