It was a sunny day so I decided to take a ride over the city I called home for twenty-two years. Bath – a popular tourist destination.

With its little back streets

Impressive edifices

Areas of green

And things not quite what they seem - a simple row of shops?

Nope - it's a bridge - Pultney Bridge.

Quite a few boats moored up just down from the bridge.

Another chunk of history - a surviving section of the Medieval Wall

Not far from the Crescent is The Circus (I used to live down the street you can just see to the right of the tree)

Actually, in Georgian times the drinking of the water for it's healing properties is what built much of the city.

In Roman times, they took advantage of the hot springs to make public baths from which the city gets its name.

But the baths were lined with lead... so taking a swim might not be a good idea. :lookaroun

The Royal Crescent reminds me of Innoventions... :D

I'd love to visit in the not-too-distant future... Really would...

Awwww... these are lovely pictures, Barnum! I've always wanted to see nice pictures about Bath. My professor at college used to talk so much about it!
